 Re: Help!
Quote: Have you tried setting python and wx to run as administrator? For my daughter's computer, Windows Vista, I had to completely uninstall Python, wx, and OpenRPG, then reinstall them and make sure to set both python and pythonw to "Run as Administrator" under their Properties > Compatibility tab before I could get past this problem. It seems that the various protections in place to keep things from running unauthorized couldn't be undone otherwise. (It happens if you attempt to run OpenRPG before setting the two python executables to Run as Administrator.)

 Re: Help!
I'm running XP and am having the same problem. I checked the compatibility area and it didn't show a "Run as Administrator" option.

 Re: Help!
It's there somewhere.
It's been a long time since I used a windows machine.
Later on today I will be over a friends house so I will check on his PC so I can find it and post back tonight.
Unless someone else beats me to the answer by then.

 Re: Help!
I got a new 500GB HD coming soon so I will be ready for Windows questions again in the near future.

 Re: Help!
ok so it turns out my friends pc is running vista so I was not able to get a perfect match to check your problem BUT I did notice that on vista the " run as administrator" isn't grouped with the other "run as" options but is at the bottom of the compatibility window under permissions and is a single check box. This may be the same on xp.
I'm assuming that you have normal admin powers on the pc your using. If you don't have admin powers that could also be the problem, who ever has the admin account for the pc might have to set it.
Sorry I couldn't do better but I couldn't find an xp machine to look at. Usually we have more window users around here but with the holidays who knows when they'll check the forums.

 Re: Help!
Can you find the file called crash-report.txt and post the contents here?

 Re: Help!

It would be in your OpenRPG folder, or if you have a subfolder called System it would be in that. Can you run system_check and look for the system_info.txt file?
