Lando The Archmagi wrote: The gear is per your career, it lists what you start with, plus whatever you buy with your thrones that you get if you wish. This is in addition to the "free" acquisition of any item with a +0 acquisition modifier per character using the group's Profit Factor, per pg. 34 under Stage 6: Select Equipment. I gather it is intended to represent a particular valuable item the character worked towards acquiring before joining the Rogue Trader.

 Re: Rogue Trader 40K
Indeed, I was referring to the single acquisition at the end of character creation (which I think I did refer to).
I have no problem with an npc Rogue trader and a cruiser sounds like hes from a pretty major line. I disagree though that we need an arch militant though; explorators, sensachals and voidmasters are all pretty dandy in a fight, maybe not to the standards of the Archmillatant but of a similar degree to the rogue trader or missionary.

 Re: Rogue Trader 40K
There is room, in fact i think we'd already assumed you'd joined, just send your character sheet to lando (his email is on the first page). The session time i think is currently thursday 7pm-11pm EST and , correct me if im wrong lando, but if we can get all the sheets in then the first session should be this week. *fingers crossed*

 Re: Rogue Trader 40K
Right, then. I decided yesterday upon a Navigator character, and have been researching/rolling towards this endeavor. I'll try to have a complete character sheet to you, Lando, by tomorrow at the latest.

Yes, this will be a text/chat game on OpenRPG. I won't be using teamspeak/ventrilo or any of those voice programs as people don't roleplay using them, they waste time talking out of character and all the background noise and such interferes with the actual game play. I've used them in several games and had the same results by both players and GMs I've played with. If I get 3-4 pcs by Tuesday I'll consider starting this Thursday, this adventure isn't horribly long, so it might only take a couple of sessions at most. Sure you can get a single acquisition to start with, the RT's profit factor is about 40. Unless someone wishes to play the RT, he'll be the NPC Sarvus Trask and you will all be crew upon his ship the Sovereign Venture. The requirements for the Endeavour have already been done for you for this beginning adventure: Recently, an Imperial scout vessel detected the Salvation Beacon of the Emperor’s Bounty in the Battleground, a blighted section of space in the Maw. The Maw is a dangerous warp passage that links the Calixis Sector to the mostly-uncharted Koronus Expanse, an area of space that lies beyond Imperial rule. Nathin Tsanthos, a scholar of the Expanse, knows that the Emperor’s Bounty is a Lathe-class Light Cruiser, a rich prize indeed if it can be salvaged. On behalf of Rogue Trader Sarvus Trask, Tsanthos made the appropriate supplications and entreaties to the Administratum, eventually receiving a Writ of Claim pertaining to the recovery and salvage of the Emperor’s Bounty. under the conditions of the claim, the Rogue Trader himself must be the first to set foot upon the derelict vessel. To that end, you have set forth upon the Sovereign Venture, a massive and powerful cruiser owned by the Trask dynasty for centuries.

 Re: Rogue Trader 40K
A question occurred to me: Lando, you had mentioned previous experience with Dark Heresy, a "sibling" RPG intended to be somewhat contiguous to Rogue Trader. Will you be using any material from that game? I realize it probably won't be an issue in the introductory module, but for the future.
