Indeed, and if someone doesn't play the RT I have pre-gen NPCs that'll work. Also if someone would like to play one of the pre-gens from Forsaken Bounty, you may (just let me know).

Thursdays are also good for me. As I said in my last post, I was considering Astropath or Navigator, but am leaning towards the former if that is still available.

 Re: Rogue Trader 40K
It depends what you want, the astropath has a narrow selection of more subtle powers at the beginning which expands into a large quantity later. wheras the navigator (much the sorceror to the astropath's wizard) has less overall powers which rise to semi obscene levels whist being able to cast them with much more consistency. Skill talent choice wise both have a preference for knowledge skills, the astropath focus's more on his psychic powers which with the right spends can take them to the same powers levels as the navigator (which psychically makes him the stronger of the two) wheras the navigator gains alot more martial and mundane (non-psychic not useless) skills and talents which allow him to function more without his powers. To summarise; the astropath is a real scholar/mage who focus's mainly on psychic powers whereas the navigator is more of a warrior who uses a few powerful innate abilites. Hope this proves helpful for you.
addemendum: remember to also look at the navigator noble houses section at the start of the navigator powers section, navigators get to pick one and gain the extra bonus's they give.

 Re: Rogue Trader 40K
Thanks for the tips, Hildersine. I'll have another look at the Navigators then.
Also, Lando, a few questions about chargen: 1) When rolling stats, do we roll them in order (i.e., first roll is for Weapon Skill, etc) or do we just roll and then select to which stats each roll is assigned based upon the career we choose? 2) How strict are you being about Origin Paths? In other words, are we following the "below/above or to either side" progression or are you allowing a free row, as explained in the sidebar on pg. 15 of the Core Rulebook?

 Re: Rogue Trader 40K
You can roll or you can use the 100pt buy option that is presented in the start of the book (pg14), if you do roll you can roll in order (interesting if you are unsure of your career) but i rolled 9 times and assigned how I liked.
IMO the homeworld line should be free choice irrespective of the birth-right (nobles cant be astropaths?) but I don't know landos opinion on this as I followed it when making my character.
Similarly, how are is our ship being gen-ed also how is initial equipment selection (stage 6 of character generation) being handled?

 Re: Rogue Trader 40K
Hi, if it's not too late I would like to try my hand at RT. I'll be playing from Bulgaria (GMT+2, +3 during daylight saving time), but I'm available in the late evening anyway. I'd like to try my hand at making a voidmaster - I get the feeling it plays as a gunslinger/explorer, is that it?

Nope, still plenty of time, only got 4 atm but lando is looking for 3-6.
And, voidmaster is a gunslinger but he also functions as the pilot/gunner/sensor surveyor whilst providing secondary command duties to the rogue trader. Functionally its one of the most diverse classes apart from maybe the explorator and really kinda represents the ultimate second officer, the spock to the rogue traders kirk.

 Re: Rogue Trader 40K
Thanks, it kinda sounded like that. The low-ish fellowship (as per the advancement cost) presupposed a more "advisor" character, but I can work with either. I'll probably either run a pilot or augurmeister, with gunner as a separate issue - I want the character to be more action-oriented, although I'm not so sure about that.
Anyway, some of the restrictions are a bit weird (seriously, living through a calamity can't foster a reliance on self-endurance, and pride and renown can't drive an arch-militant?), which is one of the points I'm not very keen on about RT, but I think I can build a decent "humble beginnigs" character.

I'm alright if you wish to roll your stats and assign them as you like, realize you can only reroll 1 roll, you must keep what you roll. I also need to see the log of the roll so use something like Invisible Castle or the like. You can also spend the 100 pts as described previously if you don't wish to roll, remember to follow the rules per the book and errata. As for origins, I do think a couple of them are a bit wonky myself, but we're doing this by the book, so unless the official errata says otherwise, follow the rules so everyone is built the same way. You may use the optional rule on pg 15 for the "free" row if you wish. I want you to play pcs that you will want to continue with. The gear is per your career, it lists what you start with, plus whatever you buy with your thrones that you get if you wish. The ship belongs to the Rogue Trader and is already described in the module, so if no one plays a replacement Rogue Trader, he'll be NPCed or the like. It's an Imperial Cruiser from his family line (they're a Rogue Trader dynasty) so its pretty cool, plus its got many holds for storing stuff, so profit is very possible. An Arch-Militant will be most useful for the party, but there is a pre-gen one if needed as well.
