Good question. For now, stick to paper. I'll scour the 'net and see what I can come up with. We still have a few weeks before we get to start anyway.

Aight, I'll do that.

Any answers to these questions?

I'm keeping the components the same as in the mage chart, correct?

What about the mage paths and gnosis? I was hoping to keep the gnosis progression as it is on the mage chart. The sorcerer's bloodlines progress... differently. : /

As for the mage paths, I can't seem to find anywhere in the book where there are actual rules for how the paths affect game play. It doesn't restrict gnosis, or give you special bonuses/penalties. It's almost like he meant there to be more to them but never got around to writing down that part.

That's correct, with the caveat that I may restrict things later if it seems too powerful.

Again, yes.

Page 194, under Rote Spells:
Everyone gets a +5 to the Spellcraft check for using a rote spell.
Some rote spells have a parenthetical listing that tells you which path is most likely to use which spell.
If you belong to that path, you get an extra +5 when you cast that Rote (for a total of +10).
So if you are an enchanter, then Alter Integrity is a +5 Rote spell, but if you are a warlock, it is +10.

I don't mind if you want to use a path, I figure it's pretty much part of the Mage.

So with Vash dropping out, do you guys want to use the 2d6+6 mechanic for ability scores?

And for anyone looking in for the first time, I'd still like to get 3-4 more players.

I'm going to get an occasional server set up so we can recruit from the folks who lurk there, but not here. I'll try to leave a note when I can set it up. Until my wife is done with school, my server days will be irregular. It'll stabilize once we are sure that she doesn't have any more online exams to take.

(We only have one computer with internet access.)

As far as the ability score mechanics go, I am fine with anything. So it's mainly up to you and Pyroth, or anyone lurking who wants to join us.

I'm also cool with whatever; but to help make the decision easier, if I had to choose, I'd pick 2d6+6. :)

If Pyroth says 2D6+6, than that's what we'll go with.

Awesome. Now we need like... 3-4 more people. Heh.

Come play with us! It'll be fun. :D

Tolen, should I use the chart on page 91 of the MCWoD to determine 'spell level' for purposes of like... defensive casting/concentration checks/etc.? That's kind of what it seems to be, I think.

2d6+6 it is! I'll update the front page.

I suppose you could use the page 91 chart, looks good to me. But in pathfinder, concentration checks have been replaced with a caster level check.

It's for casting defensively so as to not provoke AOO's for casting in Melee.

Quote:
Casting Defensively: If you want to cast a spell without
provoking any attacks of opportunity, you must make a
concentration check (DC 15 + double the level of the spell
you’re casting) to succeed. You lose the spell if you fail.

Page 207 of the pathfinder book. It came up when I was looking at the combat casting feat. :)
