Ive found vocal games do alot for role playing. They make it more social and personal, (game is alot funner when you can Hear the other players enthusiasm instead of lifeless text) and speed up the pace alot (It's hard to maintain the intensity and excitement when your waiting minutes instead of seconds for the dramatic reply as bill slowly types and edits his reply)
