 Re: Interest Check - D&D 3.X Wednesdays 7pm CST
I'd like to play a healing class if you want the rogue class. Either a cleric or something out of the complete divine if the DM allows it. I would like to hear more of the campaign setting before I actually decide.
You guys seem to feel more strongly about point buy than I do about dice rolling, it's fine with me if we choose to point buy. I think Tolen was saying something about having a vote.
I'm hoping we get 1-2 more players, though. I like groups of about five or six people. :D

 Re: Interest Check - D&D 3.X Wednesdays 7pm CST
I agree, I enjoy groups of 5 or 6, it's just a bit more interesting.
As far as ability score generation goes, I either prefer to use a set array, or 4d6 drop low. Pathfinder has a method they call 'heroic' which is 2d6+6. Maybe its just my dice, but that seems to produce some pretty high scores for me.
Again, I'll go with what the group decides. In the end its all about fun. However, I'm not convinced that rolling is bad. No one ends up that much weaker or stronger in my experience. An extra +1 here or -1 there is really only important before you start getting better equipment (like 1st level).
Besides, I've always found that too much planning ahead (character-wise) is counter-productive. Players spend their spare time making a list of what they aim to do level by level, and then get upset when they can't make it for whatever reason. Some planning is good, don't get me wrong. But what happens when you see a sourcebook with a PrC you want even more, and you've spent the last 5 levels gearing up for the old one? Better to keep things flexible.
Nonetheless, I do plan to be democratic about this. My next post will list our ability score options, and we'll go ahead and get that one out of the way. Then we can move forward with other decisions.

 The ability score method vote
Here are the choices you have: 1: Standard 4d6, drop lowest, arrange as desired 2: Pathfinder Heroic, 2d6+6, arrange as desired 3: My Standard Array: 16, 14, 14, 12, 12, 10. Arrange as desired. 4: Pathfinder Point Buy: 20 points 5: Pathfinder Dice Pool: Arrange 24d6 among the ability scores, then roll and keep the highest 3 for each. 6: Modified Point Buy: Scores are purchased at a 1 to 1 rate, 65 points 7: Duel it out: Pistols at 20 paces, last man standing makes the decision I'm going to refrain from voting unless we have a tie.

 Re: Interest Check - D&D 3.X Wednesdays 7pm CST
Further, I realized that I set the time in the title of the thread at 7pm central, but as the conversation progressed I got confused and assumed 6pm. So when the subject of delaying an hour came up, I was fine with it, thus setting it back to 7pm Central.
8pm also works for me, if it makes it easier for folks to show up. What time zones are you all in?

I'm in non-Arizona mountain time. (Crazy Arizonians and their messed up time) Setting it back to 8pm your time would be great. I can stay up pretty late if anyone else is willing. :D
I vote for option 1, though 2 does sound interesting. If we end up playing a second game together, I might want to try that. Still, group decision is more important to me. I'm fine with what you guys choose.
Option 7 sounds kind of appealing too... >.> <.< hmmm...

 Re: Interest Check - D&D 3.X Wednesdays 7pm CST
I live in Alabama, so I run by CST. My schedule is pretty flexible, so any time after 5pm CST till Midnight is good for me.
I vote for option 7. Center of town under the clock tower, we fire at noon. Just a heads up, I use dual Colt Peacemakers with a confederate twist. Sorry, I was a member of SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) for a number of years. Old west dress was mandatory and lots of fun.
I'd say option 6 or option 2.
Have you settled on a magic system to use yet? I'd prefer the new WoD system.

WoD d20, but if someone wants to do a core spellcaster, that's fine too. We may just have to be careful to be sure one doesn't outshine the other.

 Re: Interest Check - D&D 3.X Wednesdays 7pm CST
Oh, could I please get a reading list of books I should look through to get a good idea of how to play this game? A lot of ideas were tossed around but I'm not sure what was settled on. Thanks. :)

 Re: Interest Check - D&D 3.X Wednesdays 7pm CST
So far I believe the books/rules being used are as follows:
Pathfinder Core Rules Monte Cook's World of Darkness, Magic System only (classic D&D magic system is useable as well if you prefer) Eberron Warforged, Shifters, and Changeling races (as well as PHB/Pathfinder races, I think) Eberron Artificer Class (also a class of the same name in Pathfinder rules)
Tolen - Please correct anything I got wrong or add if I missed something.
