WE ARE NO LONGER RECRUITING

Our first session will be the 19th. We'll use it for an all around, character bashing session. Work out details, get equipped, that sort of thing. We might even get some adventuring started.

I'm going to go ahead and lock the player list now. Feel free, however, to contact me about a waiting list, if you'd like.

Our party:
Xaoc: Sluagh Sidhe Arcane Mechanik (from Iron Kingdoms)
Feandre: Human Duskblade
Sebadias: Goliath Fighter
Pyroth: Half-Elf Mage (From Monte Cooks World of Darkness)
Zalun: Changeling Assassin (From the Assassin's Handbook)

*********************************************************************
The Rules So Far:
We are using Pathfinder as the base.
Otherwise, I will probably allow any race or class, provided we are able to make it Pathfinder compatible (mostly just change the skill list, and calculate the CMB and CMD).
If you have Monte Cook's World of Darkness d20, you can use the magic system from there, of course, you can also use the regular system as well.

It will start at level 4, and we'll use the Pathfinder Heroic system:
Roll 2d6, and add 6. Arrange as desired. Max HP to start with (plus Con bonus, of course).
6,000 gp to start.

Campaign: Stellar Uprising

Imagine two grand, decadent space-faring cultures (spelljammer style, sailing ships drifting between the stars). One is predominantly human, while the other is predominantly elven. These two empires begin to clash over resources on the fringes of their space. Eventually, the situation becomes totally untenable, and war breaks out. For years both sides send forces to clash and take newly discovered planets and other assorted resources from the other. The warforged are created (I'm going to draft up ways to tell the difference between a human-made warforged, and other makes) to aid in the fight. Massive fleets batter each other on an almost daily basis.

Finally, the elves put together the largest armada they've ever assembled. They figure a strategic strike against the human homeworld will knock the resolve out of them. Little do they know that the humans have come up with a similar idea. Both fleets meet at Tiberion's Leap, a world without a sun to orbit in the middle of a vast, nearly uncrossable expanse. The battle is massive and bloody. Gunfire, magic, curses, all are slung with abandon. But something happens. No one knows for sure if the planet just naturally decided to explode, or if it was overloaded with magic, but most of both fleets are devastated in the fallout.

The war is officially still on, but with the majority of each fleet lost in a single battle, there is little opportunity to continue fighting. It is at a standstill. However, with the remaining forces stretched thin, rebels have begun to do their work. There are a lot of reasons, of course. The war is too much of a strain on the economy. The common people were tired of not having proper representation, or maybe they just didn't like their rulers. Either way, the rebels now see the time as right to strike back and unseat the old rulers.

Both empires are struggling just to hold on to what they already have, while at the same time, trying to control the rebellions festering at home. And now, at the worst possible time for anyone, a new force has arrived. Stories vary about what that force is, or what they are capable of, but all stories agree that when they attack, they win.

That is where the adventures start. The players are aligned with no one in particular, able to choose rebellion or patriotism, as they wish. Even independence is a viable option at this point. Imagine a sea-faring campaign with nebulae and black holes as backdrop.

**********************************************************************

Further, I maintain a blog at http://mentalrandomness.wordpress.com/.

More information about the campaign is available there, and will be added as the campaign progresses.

I would have no problems with the idea, keeping in mind of course that such characters do the most of their work in the workshop, not while on adventures. But they always need new components...

I don't currently have any IM's installed. Not too long ago, I switched to Linux, and I just haven't had to have one.

I would definatly be interested. The time and day would fit my schedule perfectly.

I've been playing D&D for 12years and started DMing shortly after 3.5e was released. I can understand your sentiment about being burned by players in the past, my last group (2yrs ago) had 2 alcoholics in it who rarely showed up on time and when they did they were drunk. I would love to finally have a solid group.

As for campaign settings, the only non-homebrew settings I've played have been Forgotten Realms and Kalimdor. I am willing to learn any new setting. I do have .PDF copies of most (if not all) 3e and 3.5e WotC books as well as most of the Green Ronin and Mongoose supliments. I would like to use the Green Ronin Assassin class and the Mongoose Feat books. To be honest, I am fine with any books/settings you are willing to let us use as long as I don't have to play a caster class. I prefer rogue play styles, but I'll settle for anything melee.

I am assuming that the game will be run on OpenRPG?
