I've got several openings for anyone interested.

Currently the party is investigating the Barrow Downs and a minor tomb/cairn and clearing out the wight inside.

The War of the Ring has ended with its destruction in the fires of Mount Doom and the fall of Sauron and his Nine, however, Middle-Earth is far from free of evil. Orcs, Trolls, Dragons, Men and other evils still lurk and dwell in dark places and will give King Elessar much trouble for years to come.

Will you stand against the darkness and help thwart these evils? The 4th Age of Middle-Earth calls heroes like you forth!

Game Time/Day: Saturday evenings 9 pm-1 am EST.
Start Date: Sat Jan 15th, 2011
Timeline: Fourth Age 1
Game: MERP 2e rules with possible Rolemaster expansion later on.
House Rules: 100 gp to start (ignore 2 gp starting funds), you may pick your background options or roll them randomly. However, if you wish to combine them all into one mighty magic item/heirloom or the like, you must seek approval from me first. You can buy minor magic items with your gold or herbs or the like. See pgs 258-260 MERP 2e.

Also no Orcs/Trolls/Corsairs/Easterlings/Haradrim/Variags/Black Numenoreans as pc races. Noldor are also going to be rare. Sindar or Silvan elves ok, most other men and dwarves, hobbits are alright. Also you may reroll your attributes if they're all lower then 65 one additional time, keeping the results. Remember that you can replace your lowest stat with a 90 for your prime attribute. Also remember any stat below 20 can be rerolled at any time.

Sheets should be in .doc/.rtf/.txt/,pdf or pc node files preferred, but the .xls file that trollblood offered will work too. Send me your completed sheets to my email at landothearchmagi at comcast.net.

Hey Lando....I've been looking through my MERP 2e stuff because I'm considering trying to get my local group to try it out because I want to play even more adventures in Middle Earth. I know you use an alternate advancement system in how you allocate xp and I was wondering if you could please give me the rundown on how you do it and the xp rewards some time when you get a chance please? I am looking for a good alternative to the method found in the core rulebook since it requires a ton of book keeping during the game sessions.

Yes, the regular method is very book keeping oriented. There is an XP chart/table to use to record types of crits/hits etc. You actually get XP for being wounded/dying in MERP even. I am using more of a mixture of XP styles from different games. I'm experimenting so my whole system isn't worked out yet. I give more XP for roleplaying and for using skills/working as a team/figuring out things. I will give XP for combat too, but remember its being split among 4-5 pcs at the moment.

Very cool. I looked through my copy of Rolemaster Express and like its method for xp so I may use it instead.

I think I was told we should have 10,800 xp total right now. Does this include the 10,000 you start out at for being lvl 1?

I also wish we had more than one game of Middle Earth. I have found it quite fun, especially with the great mix of rp and battle.

As far as xp goes, yes we are at 10,800, though I don't know if he gave out any for the first 2 sessions...though we did kill a wight in session 2 if I am not mistaken, but that could have ran over to session 3, and other than that, we didn't do anything but outfit, eat, and drink.
