 Re: MERP RPG (1 opening)
daddystabz wrote: This will be my first time playing MERP 2e but from what I'm reading I think it will be capture the flavor of Middle Earth well and I like it overall. I'm not sure how the Animist and some of the more over the top magic fits the setting but it is ok the option is there since individual GMs may wish to make some of it off limits, etc. There are versions for Mac. See the "Get OpenRPG" link at http://www.openrpg.com and follow the instructions. Animist are just clerics (more druids actually) and can do mostly healing/herbalism and such. Lots of examples in MERP actually. The animated films are pretty decent considering when they were made and they're pretty true to the stories. I picked up the remastered animated LOTR at Walmart this weekend. Watched the animated Hobbit last weekend. Waiting on animated ROTK to come from Blockbuster. I'm looking forward to starting once I got all the pcs.

Yeah, the cartoon has been surprisingly loyal to the story. I got mine at Walmart too.

 Re: MERP RPG (1 opening)
Which thread on OpenRPG forums? Can you send me the link. Also which LotR cartoons are you referring to?
I'm going to go with a +30 plate armor (for 2 background points) as my family arms heirloom. May this armor come with leg & arm greaves and a helm to make it a complete set?

The old cartoon movie adaptation. You can read some about it here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077869/As for where to get OpenRPG, you can get it here: http://www.rpgobjects.com/index.php?c=orpg&m=getorpgHowever, I did not see a Mac version.

 Re: MERP RPG (1 opening)
I meant the thread for our game (not the one for the OpenRPG VTT)

 Re: MERP RPG (1 opening)
You must mean the old thread. The old one is here: http://www.rpgobjects.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=757This thread is the newer one for the game. Lando: Any word yet from the Dwarves? I look forward to playing alongside trollblood2008 and the others, as well as learning MERP 2e inside-out. I really want to master this classic Tolkien system.

The Linux/OSX install is probably a Mac one since Mac's OS is on a Linux/Unix base. There are instructions for Mac users on the OpenRPG forums.

This is the game thread, which should be apparent from the first post. If you want to take +30 plate armor that's fine and I'll permit it to come with greaves/helm since its an heirloom. Realize you still take the penalties to the MM and Perception checks with the greaves/helmet on.

 Re: MERP RPG (1 opening)
MDDarmoc, Kyanna, and Amaraxis.....do you all still intend to play? I have not seen you all posting here lately either.
Do we have e-mail addresses for these 3, Lando? Depending on what we find out in regard to these players and how you feel about it, I'm pretty sure I could grab a couple players from RPG.net if needed/wanted.
