Re: Rogue Trader 40K (Recruiting 3 spots)
Folks new to Rogue Trader are welcome. I'm still learning rules myself as I go, but its not much different then other rpgs. You roll dice add/subtract modifiers etc.
I'm not a first come first served GM as I've had lots of folks signup in the past, then they don't show up or they drop out witih no explanation. So if you'd like to play a role, make a pc with background and submit it for approval and I will decide if it fits the group dynamics or not.
If you'd like to come lurk in a game, we should be playing this Thursday at the regular time if everyone shows up.

Are openings still available for Astropath? I'd be interested. I'll try to login to the room and see.

What information do you need?
I've read a decent amount about the lore and played a good number of table top 40k but haven't had to come up with a 40k backstory before...
As astropaths go, what would work nicely with what you have planed? Anything you want to spring on people later?
We can talk specifics later if neccesary.

We can talk specifics later if neccesary. Need a full character sheet with stats/skills/talents/origin/background/gear. See the first post of this thread for specifics.

Re: Rogue Trader 40K (Recruiting 3 spots)
When using the 500 xp extra(from forsaken bounty) to buy things how does that work with buying new psyker techniques? In character generation I spent the 200xp of the 500xp on psychic techniques but do I then have to pay the xp cost of the power as well? I didn't see that defined anywhere very well. Same goes for after creation, And are you only limited to 2 techniques per rank?

Same goes for after creation, And are you only limited to 2 techniques per rank? Hey, I'm the Navigator so I have some more experience with psychic rules than the others. As I understand it, for the most part you are limited to 2 new psychic techniques for every rank of Astropath. I suppose it might be possible to get more as an Elite Advance (out of career or extra stuff) but those are more expensive and completely up to the GM. Also, if you look at the description for the Psychic Technique Talent on pg 104 in the CR, your question is answered explicitly. I'll paraphrase, but you choose one power from a Discipline you already possess (Telepathy, Pyrokinesis, etc.) that has an xp cost equal or lower than the amount you paid for the talent. So, at rank 1, the Talent costs 100xp. You then choose a power from the Telepathy Discipline (as you're an Astropath) that costs 100xp or less. You do not pay the cost of the power itself. From what I can see, you have 3 options: Short-Range Telepathy, Delude, or Inspire. Also, Lando, did you have a chance to look at the character revisions I sent you? It doesn't matter until after this adventure, but I'd like a yea or nay, or whether I need to change anything, so I'm prepared for that eventuality.

Re: Rogue Trader 40K (Recruiting 3 spots)
Yeah, I finally found that today while at work during lunch. *grin* Had to redesign the character a bit. The rules also killed my planned initial acquisition as well. I found out that you get a nice -20 to attack tests if you use a weapon you don't have a talent for. And you simply can't acquire something you don't have a talent for. *grumble* Durn rules...

I've glanced at it, but not looked indepth I've been swamped with school work and job hunting and all that. I've not even had time to look at the new pcs that have been submitted today. I will eventually look at it all, but so far I'm ok with everything (got to read/look it up/understand it first)
