I'm going with a House Cannith artificer. (non-dragonmarked)

PedroFile, I presume that with suitable ranks in Craft, I can make some of my own starting equipment?
And what's your policy on custom magic item creation? Just use the SRD rules?
Do you allow Flaws and Traits from Unearthed Arcana? (they're in the SRD, so they are Core)
Edit: And are we using Action Points?

Other players, has everyone picked classes yet? According to posts, we've got the following:
Idesone: Paladin
Symphony: Fighter
Veterannewb: Fighter
Ichai: Artificer
PhillyG: Sorcerer
epic_artisan: Rogue or Soulknife

That's 3 melee and an arcanist. PhillyG or Epic_artisan, can I request that at least one of you goes with a full caster? (A conjurer or controller would be superawesomecool. 8-) )

So think about your characters and a little bit about what you want this game to be about. Do you guys want to have a string of missions, a sandbox to play in, one epic tale full of ass kickery?

I vote for a mission at first, simply to help us settle into a cohesive group. After that, a sandbox sounds like fun, maybe picking up missions/quests as we explore and grow.

I found this character generator. http://dnd3rd.sourceforge.net/ however the character sheet does not have a saving throws chart on it. does anyone know where to find a better character generator or a editable character sheet? My character is pretty much finished i just need a sheet to put it all together and mail it to Pedrofile. Thanks

Okay, hey guys. First off answers.

We are running Eberron Standard. That means yes to action points, no to traits (unless the 1 non core/eberron source book you pick is unearthed Arcana). Custom magic item creation as per the SRD unless your an artificer or the like then obviously the special rules located in the book you selected the class from apply

Second if you need books I can either A) give you a torrent B) guide you though getting them off an irc f-serv C) email them to you D) express the information in them with interpretive dance.

Third, Ichai nice chart!

Idesone: Paladin
Symphony: Fighter
Veterannewb: (Unknown melee)
Ichai: Artificer
PhillyG: Sorcerer
epic_artisan: Rogue or Soulknife.

You can make items. You have 1 month of working time "pre-game".

A few other ins and outs.
During the first 3 game if you want you can change your character in any way ONCE. You can completely re-write if you want and we retcon your character. This lets you fix any mistakes you made, like you forgot a all important feat or a key skill, or if you just don't like the character. But only ONCE.

Some things you guys can vote on at the start of the game.
Here are a few house rules I like using, you guys can vote on the ones you want or not.

1) Blind Rolls: The DM rolls certain checks for the players with out there knowledge.
I like blind rolls because they add to the drama. For example if I say "roll a spot check" and you all fail you don't see it but you still know some things up and that kills the drama of a ambush or a secret mind control.

Another option to this is at the beginning of game you roll a d20 a couple times and write down the results. Then I can use those results for Blind Checks.

2) PvP: PvP is restricted. Asmovs Rules (i-robot) apply. No stealing from each other. UNLESS, the narrative allows for it.

3) Players as NPCs. Some times it becomes necessary for a minority of the players to be the temporary focus of a game. Usually the other players have to sit and wait til' its over. But I could assign you to play the NPCs the minority are interacting with. BUT you have to play them right and try not to meta game and help your fellow party members, also there may not always be enough NPCs to go around.

Do you guys have any house rules you'd like to vote on?

Lastly, heres some fluff.

An excerpt from "Lots of Corn and Some Cryains: A Contemporary Look at Northern Breland
Cryain Commons: A half built fabrication of white wooden houses and apartment buildings with massive windows. Its a vibrant neighborhood and the last bastion of Cryain common culture.

Brelish Commons: A cluster of old rustic houses made of unfinished wood that are half sunk into the earth. It seams dirtier than the Cryain Commons, perhaps do to its age.

Market Place: A wide open area flanked by wooden buildings in the Cryain style and the occasional small temple. All of the basics are for sale here, from produce, to raw crafting materials, to live stock, to common soap.

Theater District: A cramped colorful pile of quickly constructed fire hazard death traps covered in posters promising "You will laugh, you will cry, you may even cum a little" Not all the theater in New Cyre is that banal, as some times actors from the famous Sharn Players Guild grace the stages.

Shops Distrct: A neat grid of brick store fronts displaying different artisan wares made and sold here. Shops here include, Steves Serious Swords, Bridgettes Bigass Breastplates, and McDondiddles the gnomish restaurant chain.

The Finance District: Tasteful stone buildings with classy sign work advertising money lenders, appraisers, auction houses, and tax offices. If a coin enters New Crye the Finance District knows about it.

Noble District: The MASSIVE houses here are flamboyantly decorated in rare metals, colorful ivies, and exotic woods. Most of the surviving Cryain nobility has settled here, they've brought along there guards.

Civic District: Four massive buildings one still under construction covered in sculpture dominate this district. They are, The Courthouse, The Guards Barracks, The Legislative Office, and Prince Oargivs new mansion.

The Caravan/Fairgrounds: This district is more or less a big dirt field surrounded by a picket fence FILLED with wagons, tents, and cooking fires. At any time you could find any variety of strange travelers with even stranger tales here.

Remember friends, if your ever in Breland and your looking to buy a guy drink look me up.

yes i have something to say on the blind rolling personally i would prefer if we dont see something thats not your fault i personally have never used a die rolling program it is perfectly fine with me if you make all my rolls for me
my only question not covered is that if we are seperated during gameplay and encounter/defeat something alone do we alone get full xp?
