Post Who's ready to dive into a new DCC RPG campaign?
DCC Fans,

Yesterday I received my hardcopy of Goodman Games Dungeon Crawl Classics (DCC) RPG book and I'm itching to try it out.

http://www.goodman-games.com/5070preview.html

I'd be willing to judge a new DCC RPG campaign if there are 4 to 6 people willing to join it. We would start with each player running 3 or 4 random level-0 "funnel" characters through an introductory adventure with the survivors advancing to level 1.

Here's a free online character generator that creates 4 random level-0 characters at a time:

Game sessions would be held twice a month or so on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evenings US Central Time (exact day and time would be determined by group consensus) on the Mayhem Gaming Traipse OpenRPG server.

Any takers? Please post general interest or questions in this thread and also PM me your email address if interested.

Andy

I created a recruiting post on the Mayhem Gaming site that points back to this thread:

Anybody else interested?

Depending on the times and specific days it runs I might be interested. I've already created a character which was very easy with the generator.

What day(s) and time(s) would work for you, Mini and Arelius?

Time-wise I'd be available between around 6-10 PM US Central Daylight Time for an evening game. Alternatively, I could run on Saturday or Sunday morning or early afternoon.

Each player will need at least four level-0 "funnel" characters to start with. It is expected that most will die during the initial adventure. Those that survive are promoted to level 1.

lareth,

The Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG is a new "old school" fantasy RPG based on the fantasy books and authors listed in Appendix N of the 1st Ed (AD&D) Dungeon Master's Guide (which the author, Gary Gygax, noted as having had a major impact on his development of D&D) . It is D&D as Joseph Goodman of Goodman Games has envisioned it.

The DCC RPG book is just now being released after having been sent out to those who preordered over the last year or so.

The rules are not available online.

The game makes use of the concept of a "funnel" where randomly created level 0 PCs participate in an introductory adventure that "weeds out" the weak and/or unlucky characters. Those PCs which survive advance to level 1 and (if human) choose an adventuring class.

The basic mechanics are very similar to Basic D&D with a few 3rd Ed concepts thrown in. AC is ascending, creatures have an Initiative bonus, and Fortitude, Reflex, and Will saves are used.

To begin play, each player needs to randomly roll up 4 or 5 level 0 PCs (many are expected to die in the "funnel" adventure). You can do this online at the following web site:
