Well kinda don't help when I may need them on to see my stat rolling, unless I can just use whatever I have on hand since it is less than a week.

We currently have a solid 4 players. I would like another 2 or 3 to finish filling out the group. We are now playing on a server run by one of the players called Chaotic-Reflections (Unfathomable Entropy). We are playing Wednesday nights from 7:30pm CST to 11:30pm CST. The game is high power and high fantasy. The group is currently ECL 8, with a +2 mandatory LA.

This interests me, especially since i happen to like crazy, high concept, roleplay heavy campaigns. I've got large amounts of experience with 3.5, but i was wondering for a bit about what is actually allowed class/bookwise, what the party needs, etc. Also wondering what "mandatory +2 LA means", is only races with a la of 2 allowed, or is there templates around aplenty? I'm from sweden, which means it's nighttime for me, but nighttime also happens to be the only time i can guarantee attendance, so whatever. I'm good with english but might type a smidgen slower than some other folks. I don't have any experience with iron kingdoms though, so exactly how much do I need to know about that?

If you find something you want to use in a published book/handout/ettra/etc, WoTC or Third Party Publisher, and can tell me book and page number it will most likely be allowed. At this point the party mostly needs someone who is willing to take the lead and make decisions. It is a sandbox style game so I am not pushing them forward in any one direction but giving them numerous choices. As far as classes go we have a Warblade/Monk, a Wizard/Monk (with a Spirit Shaman/Monk companion), an Arcane Mechanik/Fighter, and a Rogue/Cleric. The +2 LA is mandatory, meaning you have to use a race/template combo (+2/0, +1/+1, 0/+2) that gives you a total of a +2 LA. The Iron Kingdoms books are thrown in for a little steampunk flavor. The only thing being used from Iron Kingdoms are the Mechanikal items and the race/classes. If you can find a copy of the books I would suggest looking through the races, classes, and mechanikal items, but if you can't find a copy of the books don't worry too much about it.

Out of sheer curiosity, what templates are the other people using, and what in the world could have happened to get such uncommon people to work together?
I saw the character generation method (3d6, drop lowest, add a 6, correct?). I think im going to try and roll stats on invisiblecastle, and since i dont really have a character name yet, ill go with "Telefax's character". Ill drop a link in the next post (so you can see i havent cheated by editing this one).

P.S: where is the charop-slider placed? (and is there a reason for why most people seem to have levels in monk?)

A bit low for the method, but well, it was a high powered method, so whatever.

Edit, oops, forgot the re-rolling all ones part, there are 3 of them, and i'll make a second roll with the character name, replacing them in order.
2nd edit: Well, after calculating stuff, it appears i got 16,15,15,15,13,13, which is well, insane, but not exceptional for the method. How much gold does a new guy get, or are you using some alternate currency system?

I'm leaning slightly towards crusader from To9s for character class. I guess i'd have preferred a more sneaky ninja-ish character, but since there seems to be a need for a diplomancer ill think ill make someone that has to rely at least in part on charisma.

Of the four characters the only templates/races I can remember at the moment are the Winged Template and we have an anthromrphic rhino. I would have to look up the others. As far as why so many players have chosen monk as part of their gestalt I am not sure. You could always add the sneaky ninja-ish class in by using the gestalt rules.

New players will start at ECL 7 (that includes the +2 LA) with the standard starting wealth of a 7th level character (that number should be listed in the PHB or the DMG)

Sorry, I don't know why I never think to mention it. I have a bad habit of telling players 'if you can find the rule/variation and show it to me you can use it' and waiting to see how creative players can be. The more creative the better! Yes all the PCs are gestalt characters, so feel free to make a gestalt character.

Oh and if you haven't already check out the game forums at ue.chaotic-reflections.net There is a good deal of information on the site. We have an FAQ with character creation rules, as well as rules for the 100K item and you can read through the Play by Post section to see what the party has done outside of the Wednesday night sessions.

Ah, ok. I come from the completely opposite mindset (as in: you make a character that fits the world, and i tweak the crunch so it's balanced). That's a whole can of worms open for abuse, so i hope your players arent char-op people. I also realized after reading your forums that the character generation uses 4d6 remove lowest, not 3d6 remove lowest add a 6, so i guess ill have to re-roll, even though that will be later. I'm going for some kind of ninja-ish build that can talk their way out of things. Considering the campaign is more or less gestalt, what are your rules for prestige classes/multiclassing, is it really just "go nuts, as long as you can reference it"? (still having a hard time believing that one)
