12am actually is not a problem, I am not usually hitting the hay until 12:30am at the earliest.....just wouldn't be able to start until about 9pm so if that was an issue I could wait until the next game session...

Yes I was, and I am definitely interested. I am perfectly fine with waiting until next week so I don't disrupt the flow of the game in progress if it is not workable to drop me in partway into the session. I have always had a fancy for bow users and am curious what race Subotai is because I would be all over that...

For an archer I'd suggest Bossonian or Shemite.

OK I will be working out the stats of a Shemite archer which I will get up as soon as I can. One question: Is there a "common" tongue in the world? I am asking because having someone who speaks Shemite, another who is Turanian, add a Cymmerian then how the heck does everyone communicate?

Also, Manuel I would be totally interested in a copy of Legends of Steel if you can hook me up...

Another question.....I noticed under boons it has literate and under flaws it has illiterate....does that mean to be literate you have to take the boon and if you don't take the boon you must take the illiterate flaw?

LOL......1 more question, last one I promise! In the BoL game I am in PbP we were able to take a 3rd boon by taking a 2nd flaw. Is this how it works when you run BoL or is it different? (just asking because I am almost done with Khazim, just need to figure out his 2nd language and firm up his boons/flaws)

xhaosdaemon, I am glad you mentioned about the common tongue thing. There is no overall common tongue that everyone in the world speaks. However, I want to look at everyone's characters once I receive yours and we will pick one language that everyone must have so that there will be one common form of communication amongst the party members so you all can always effectively communicate. I might end up giving it out as a free language.

As for literate/illiterate it works like this: You might want to ignore literate as a boon. The language rules state that in place of one of your language options you can choose literate, meaning you can read and write in your language you already have. If you choose the illiterate flaw you can never learn to read or write.

As for boons and flaws. You get one boon automatically. You can get a second boon if you also choose a flaw. To get a third boon at character creation you would have to give up 2 hero points out of the 5 you are allocated. Those 2 hero points give you a third boon at character creation. You would then start each game with only 3 hero points instead of the usual 5. You can also purchase additional boons through character advancement and do the same for paying off flaws.
