Looking for player's for 4e Dark Sun Campaign. I am a new DM to 4e rules, however I have experience with 2nd edition AD&D. I prefer to have new players to the system or those who are experienced and willing be patient with others still learning. Hoping to start a long term campaign with dedicated player's for the game. I like for games to have a good mix of Combat and Role Playing.

Game times for now will be 10:00pm PST, and will run for about 2-3 hours for now. As far as days go, I am open for any day of the week at the 10:00 PST time. I have a very busy schedule until the first of the year. Once the new year gets here I will be able to schedule a time for an extended game on Saturday or Sunday, with an earlier start time.

As of right now we have one PC and would like a party of 4-6 PC's. I have a friend that will possibly be joining the game after the first of the year. I do not mind running a game for a small group if that is all we can get.

For classes, races, and character creation, we will be using what's allowed in the Dark Sun Campaign Setting. The Divine classes are considered gone, due to the Gods not existing on Athas. However if you can come up with a great reason why you would have divine powers, and how you will disguise them, I may let it fly. As far as races go, Dragonborn, Dwarf, Eladrin, Elf, Goliath, Half-Elf, Halfling, Human, Mul, Tiefling, and Thri-Kreen are all in. As far as other races go, you will have to come up with a really good reason for them being on Athas before I will allow it. I want the PC's to be hardy and tough. So, we will be using a 35 point buy system. Here is a link for a point calculator. http://www.betahelix.net/pb4e/pb4e.html As far as alignment goes, the PC's can be Unaligned, Good, and Lawful Good. So, no Evil characters please.

We will be using some form of voice chat for our games. I have a ventrilo server and that is my preferred form of voice chat. However, we can use skype if need be, for those who can not get ventrilo working properly.

We will be starting in Tyr. A brief background and description of your character would be great. I would like to have the character sheets by Friday 12/03/10, so we can make sure everything is correct. It will also give me a little bit of time to adapt everyone to the story ideas I have in mind.

I would like to start the game next Monday 12/06/10 at 10:00pm PST. I would like for us to play Mondays and Fridays, until the first of the year. Then try to add in a longer playing time on a Saturday, when free. Let me know if these days are going to work for everyone. I believe everyone has the vent info and was able to get it working, so ventrilo will be our form of chat.

It would be nice if we could all get in vent together sometime before the first game, to go over any questions and kind of break the ice. I will be in vent every night this week at 10:00pm PST. So feel free to jump in and chat. I may be afk from time to time, so send me a message if you don't get a response.

10pm PST on a school night is too late for me, or I'd be very interested in joining. Out of curiosity, are you playing the 4.5 (essentials) rules?

I'm running with the 4e rule books. I don't think there is much difference in the essentials, other than it being more simplified, so I don't own any of them. Pretty sure they are completely compatible though.

If you all can be in vent Friday night at 10:00pm PST, that would be great. So we can go over a few things before Monday. Please let me know if you can make it.
