I'm a player looking to join a game with minimal rules that's focused on story. I'm inexperienced with any form of 'system', and have only played games based loosely on D&D with a DM and dice incorporated (DM creates the story, NPCs, and decides whether or not you're gonna live). I'm also open to joining a system if the DM is willing to take in and teach a new player. I'm not much interested in games based off of movies, games, or books unless it's a very loose connection with it's own separate plot. We can discuss genre if I find such a DM exists. |

This may be a little late now but... Freeform games are few and far between, especially on the net where you have people that don't know each other in a game, making it harder to get the freeform to work. Can I suggest looking at Pathfinder? It's D&D 3.5 based so you have a little experience with it, it's easy to pick up, it's popular, and you can get the rulebook in PDF format so you can easily read it on your PC, Mac or even most mobile devices (I have all of my Pathfinder books on my iPad). Most GM's would be willing to take someone on who doesn't know the rules. So just advertise as an inexperienced player looking for a game. I'm sure you'll find something. |
