Background (Brief):
Galadlaure Suvoni has spent most of her decades-long childhood living in Sandpoint. The speed at which the other children of sandpoint matured made it difficult for her to feel connected to the townsfolk around her, and she threw herself into books, which were the same every time she read them, and yet revealed more about herself and her world each time she did so. Still, the human children of Sandpoint could be cruel, chanting "Galadlaure, Galadlaure, head's always in a story." The nickname "Story Laure" has stuck with her.


Her nose alway in a book, she hardly even noticed the excitement of the townsfolk as the Swallowtail Festival approached. Bored with the mayor's speech, she began once again pouring through one of her favorite volumes, walking heedlessly down the street when the goblins attacked the town. It was only the diligence of the local heroine Shalelu that saved her from a goblin's horsechopper. Shalelu pulled her out of the way, finishing the goblin with one mighty blow and advising Galadlaure "If you don't learn to pay attention to the world around you, all the knowledge in those books won't save your ass. And the next time this happens, I won't either."

Something awakened in Galadlaure, a bit of maturity that hadn't fully formed until her life was threatened in such a sudden and unexpected way. She decided that Shalelu was right, it was time for her to start paying attention to the dangers of the world, learn how to avoid, control, and overcome them.

Okay folks, get ready for the beginning of your journey north to the Lands of the Linnorm Kings and beyond! Barring an extended scouring of Brinestump Marsh for any remaining treasure or XP you might seek out first, the party should be assembling a caravan with Ameiko and the others in this week's session, and you'll need to work out many of the preparations for the caravan's departure yourselves! Check the Caravans section of the Jade Regent Player's Guide PDF when you get the chance, as you'll need to figure out what supplies, caravan enhancements, new wagons, and other caravan stuff you'll be purchasing in Sandpoint.

The party's size will require you to buy at least one new wagon for the caravan (the starting wagons only have enough space for Ameiko, Koya, Sandru, Shalelu, and the two extra NPC drivers already employed by Sandru, plus 4 of your party's 6 PCs), and an NPC driver for it unless one of the PCs has Handle Animal and wants to drive it themselves. During the session you'll also decide how to allocate the caravan's 3 bonus stat points and 1 caravan feat slot, and determine which caravan roles everyone will fulfill for at least the first day of the journey.

Hey, Ark, the caravan sidebar says

No, the caravan clearly starts at level 1 regardless. The module indicates that the party should be level 2 before the caravan is even assembled (and it's virtually impossible for them to NOT reach level 2 by the end of the swamp trek, just given the minimal number of encounters involved and the XP story awards). The caravan will jump up to level 3 as soon as a PC reaches 3rd-level, odd as that is, but that's just how the module and the caravan levels are handled.

He is not very physically able, being a bit on the clumsy side and weak for his size, but he is a hard worker and can go for many hours without rest when he is working on a project.

Having known Ameiko Kajitsu for many years, he considers her his best friend.

Alright, Dargo has been checked-in after I went over his sheet on the game-server and fixed the few minor errors. He'll be joining the group around the time they assemble the caravan in Sandpoint. Ashi'lie Jarina will be written out of the game as family responsibilities in-game keep her from leaving with the caravan.

Today's session was cancelled after 3-1/2 hours of waiting for folks to show up and only ending up with 2 or 3 players present at any given time. Please try to be here on time next week so we can continue the Adventure Path!

Background (Brief):
Nicky has always looked up to her older sister Ameiko wishing to mimic her older sister as an adventure. However despite her admiration both her father and Ameiko wished to give up this foolish dream, and work with her father in the glasswork shop in town. But Nicky has always been somewhat carefree individual and was never interested in helping with her father’s business at the glasswork, so much so she actively tried to fail to learn glass working. Instead Nicky has always has always attempted secretly wear makeshift armor and wooden weapons in training to fight. It was during this same period of training Nicky found some affinity for magic, though she did not dare share this fact with her father.

As Nicky grew older she still held very few resources at her disposal Amy secretly trained with a Varisian woman named Alika, learning their form swordsmanship from her. After several months of training Nicky with Alika, Nicky had only managed to learn the basics of fighting with a few weapons, rather than entire arsenal when the Goblins attacked Sandpoint during the Swallow Tail festival. Nicky managed to kill several goblins herself but with aid of Alika who died during the raid. Unlike the Hero no one has seen Nicky’s deeds, nor did she realized both her sister and father convinced local powers to downplay her role in the attack roles instead letting the “heroes” deal with the goblins, in the meantime Nicky accepted a job as a town guard during the emergency.

However once the emergency was over Nicky was let go, nevertheless Nicky continued to train to hone her skills. Not wishing to take a job in the restaurant or glasswork shop and to satisfy her wanderlust to leave the small town Nicky started to look for a job as a caravan guard. However before Nicky found a job as a caravan Nicky had weird dream of a strange Chelish woman dressed in heavy armor, shield and ordinate longsword showed a distant land of people being treated brutally, and just before Nicky woke up the Chelish woman lead her through her house to hidden room in her family estate with a strange sword hidden away. When Nicky woke she managed to find the hidden room and with the same blade she had dreamt before. For the next few days Nicky trained with sword who she later found out was called a Nodachi.
