Hey there

We are going to be running a Rifts game on Monday nights, already have 4 players, but thought if there was anyone really interested in our idea, I would throw it out there and see....

First the plot: The PCs are new rulers on a council of protectors that are in charge of a new kingdom in eastern Washington, Yakima to be specific. There is a head of the council and two other council members that are senior to the PCs, but the PCs will wield considerable political power in this new kingdom. The population of the city is 24k, there is some industry, but the area is mostly wild and needs taming. The PCs job is to 1) protect the people of the kingdom, 2) increase the wealth and safety of the kingdom, and 3) grow the kingdom.

Yes, I know this is very different from other games where you adventure and kill monsters, but have no fear, you will still have chances to kill, maim and abuse bad guys; but it will be mostly in the defense of your new kingdom, instead of random peoples you meet. We have an operator, a knight, a GB and a TBD at the moment.

Games will be on Mondays at about 6 pm Central time and last for 3 hours or a bit longer.

If you are interested in a political game of Rifts, and have a character that you think would be fun to play, post your ideas here.

BTW: The NPC members of the council are an exCS colonel, military specialist, a true atlantean air warlock, and the leader is a shifter that summons deevils. That's right, the calgary rift is only a mere 300 miles away :)

Alignment should be playable with a group. Level is 8, these are seasoned people that are to be in charge now, not some time later.

Most classes/races will be considered if they make sense for the game.

I'm thinking of a full conversion cyborg, advanced parts and tech, with the knowledge to go with it. Someone who can help build the infrastructure.

If the council is full I'd like to be working as a businessman in the area. There used to be nuclear plants out that way. Being able to restart those and use them to provide cheap power to the surrounding area would be a nice start to my capitalistic endevours.

Preferably if possible with some minor protective forces/defenses/skilled labor to show how said plant is able to operate, if not quite efficiently enough just yet. (hooray for finding upgrades in game!)

The town is built on a ley line nexus, and the wife of the air warlock built a pyramid to harness it's power, which is used for a lot of the town's power.

The nuclear plant ideas are good though, you definitely could make some money if you could find and revive one, if nothing else for powering robots and tanks and such for those not interested in magic.

Plus its good to cut into the monopoly. And the power can go out to surrounding farms and villages as well, expanding my influence a little. When will you be on open so we can discuss this further?
