Yeah, the military one. I'll be going in with the Army as a 19 Delta, Cavalry Scout. I ship out to basic and AIT February.

Also, I'll have my character ready soon, I just need to find a character sheet that can hold all my spells known and spells prepared. How much detail do you want in our backstory? I have something vague, but do you want names; rivals, friends, etc, so you have things to work with?

UE.Chaotic-Reflections.net should be available tomorrow morning. Just have to wait for DNS to propagate and get some basic configuration done.

You can be as detailed in the back story as you want to be. It won't hurt my feelings if you don't have one, as most players these days don't seem to care enough to make one.

Good Luck at MEPS, I hope you aren't afraid of needles, and good luck with the Army. Thank you for your service!

I tend to use the background generation in the back of the 3.0 edition character guide... character portfolio... thing... the one that gives tips on how to play different race/class combinations, has tons of names, and also has an alignment test in the back that you can answer in character to figure out more about what your character would do in certain situations.

This makes it easy to get a skeleton for a character made out, and then you can go through and tweak the specifics to fit your idea. Just takes a few d100 rolls... it may even give you a few ideas that you hadn't even considered.

And as far as MEPS, you're pretty lucky I think. My ship date would have been literally the day after graduation... three weeks after my visit to the station. At least, you have several months to get your affairs in order (that sounds much more morbid than intended, but i can't figure a better way to say it.)

I don't have the 3.0 version. I pretty much started with 3.5 back in '05, and never moved on, except for pathfinder.
I usually just write up a few paragraphs, to establish basic personality, and of course, why he's out living the dangerous life. But I don't go into that much depth, as I'm not the best writer.

And thanks. I appreciate it.

Sorry, it was the Hero Builder's Guidebook. Check PM for a link.

I am thinking about a winged creature, and need a little clarification about ECL 3 max level 1.

I understand that a level 1 PC needs 1,000 XP to reach level 2, and maxes out at level 20.

Does a level 1 ECL 3 PC need 3,000 XP to reach level 2, and max out at level 18?

Technically there is no Max Level, but if your looking at the XP charts by level then yes. To progress from ECL 3 to ECL 4 is the same amount of XP to progress from Level 3 to Level 4. Once you progress past ECL 20 your considered an Epic character. Though if your ECL is pushed up by LA, there are rules for buying out (reducing) LA.
