Interest Check BESM 3e Fantasy Game Monday Evenings 7EST
Checking Interest in a fantasy game (human-centric, more greco-roman than mideval european) utilizing a modified version of 3rd Edition Big Eyes Small Mouth. Rules system is very rules light and easy to pick up. These are (some of) the modifications I'm using:
Stats You have 200 character points to assign stats. The Stats are Body Mind and Soul. 10 points per stat value. Minimum value in any stat for a PC is 3, maximum is 10.
Attributes You have 80 character points to spend on attributes. The following Attributes are available for this campaign:
Attributes / Cost per Level Armor(Homogenous)/4 (Max 5 levels) Attack Combat Mastery/10 Combat Technique/2: All except Portable Armory, Tournament Encyclopedia, Weapons Encyclopedia Defense Combat Mastery/10 Divine Relationship/2 Dynamic Powers/20(Air, Earth, Fire, or Water Magic)/30(Animal, Energy, Mineral or Vegetable Magic)/40 (Magic) Energy Bonus/2 Extra Attacks/15 Extra Defenses/5 Features (GM Approval Required)/1 Heightened Awareness/2 Heightened Senses/2 Jumping/2 Land Speed/2 Massive Damage/4/7/10 Melee Attack/3 Melee Defense/3 Mind Shield/2 Ranged Attack/3 Ranged Defense/3 Sixth Sense/2 Special Defense/2 Special Movement/2 Tough/2
Skills You have 60 character points to spend on skills. Skills are ranked from 1-6. No ranks in a skill means you are unskilled and may only use ¾ of the stat for the roll. A Rank in any skill costs 3 character points. You get 1 specialization for free when you have at least 1 skill rank in the skill. Additional Specializations cost 1 character point each.
The skills used in this campaign are as follows:
Skills (Specializations) Artistry (Calligraphy, Draw, Paint, Sculpt, etc.) Athletics (Acrobatics, Climb, Run, Stealth, Swim, Swing, etc.) Business (Accounting, Administration, Haggling, Merchandising, etc.) Communication (Bluff, Etiquette, Intimidation, Seduction, etc.) Craft (Armorer, Bowyer, Shipwright, Smith, etc.) Crime (Fence, Lockpick, Pickpocket, Stealth, etc.) Culture (Ancient, Foreign, Languages, Local, etc.) Entertainment (Act, Dance, Instrument, Sing, etc.) Husbandry (Animal Training, Beast Knowledge, Ride, Track, etc.) Lore (History, Legends, Mysticism, Religion, etc.) Science (Astrology, Biology, Botany, Engineering, Medical, etc.) Survival (Forage, Folk Remedy, Navigate, Track, etc.) Transportation (Drive, Ride, Row, Sail, etc.)
Equipment
Equipment will not be paid for with points, but rather purchased with money and found during adventuring.
Defects
A character may take up to 10 points worth of defects, which can be spent on Stats, Attributes, and/or skills as the player sees fit. The following Defects are available for this game:
Achilles Heel Bane Blind Fury Cursed Easily Distracted Impaired Manipulation Impaired Speech Inept Attack Inept Defense Less Capable Marked Not So Tough Phobia Physical Impairment Recurring Nightmares Reduced Damage Sensory Impairment Unappealing Wanted

Re: Interest Check BESM 3e Fantasy Game Monday Evenings 7EST
I have no knowledge of this system, but I'd be happy to give it a try. That is, assuming that you mean US/Canada EST as in GMT-5, not Australia EST=GMT+10.
EDIT: I, too, would be interested in knowing more about the setting. Is it historical fantasy? If so, what date? Happy fun time fantasy, like D&D, where everybody seems to be up-and-up on germ theory, sanitation, and woman's lib? Militarist grimdark fantasy, like WFRP, where everything is horrible and awful and bad and mankind is on the edge of extinction, but warfare and warriors are glorified and lionized?

Re: Interest Check BESM 3e Fantasy Game Monday Evenings 7EST
Setting and Campaign Information
The world is known as Teranov. The setting is the ten kingdoms of the Known World of Teranov.
Four kingdoms share a continent roughly one quarter the size of Australia. These are Aravoli, Lucindia, Marund, and Scotia. Aravoli is the largest, oldest, and most influential kingdom of the nine. The kingdoms of Dapoli, Krecia, Glakow, and Panemia each occupy their own larger island mass while New Scotia and Valencia occupy their own series of smaller islands.
The technology level of the ten kingdoms is roughly equivalent of ancient Greece or Rome. Magic exists, but is very rare and mostly weak. Gods and monsters exist, and the people of the ten kingdoms know better than to think the common man has any chance should either decide their time has come. Kings are often powerful sorcerers or demigods with power enough to forge a kingdom from the wilderness and hold it from the interest of the gods, or the advances of other kings or monsters. Performing these duties usually keeps them too busy to handle other matters…
Heroes (such as the PCs) are usually sponsored by a king to partake in quests to defeat troublesome monsters, recover glorious artifacts, explore lost or unknown parts of the kingdom, perform secret missions in other kingdoms, or journey into the mysterious, fog-shrouded outer seas for new treasures or land. They are considered above the common people, and often have unique knowledge, skills, and sometimes even fledgling sorcerous abilities of their own to accomplish these tasks. Heroes don’t often live a long a fruitful life, but rather burn in the bright light of glory and live long in legend only. It is said as long as a hero’s tale is told, he is welcomed among the halls of the gods in Valdahar, spared the unending toil of Dergemont most commoners are consigned to after their deaths. The gods rarely care that one man’s Hero is another’s Villain, and despicable Heroes roam Valdahar as long as their legends are remembered as well. Tales are told of the glorious battles among Heroes in Valdahar, and their revels after a battle well fought.

Re: Interest Check BESM 3e Fantasy Game Monday Evenings 7EST
More to come on the setting-specifically brief descriptions of the Kingdoms, their rulers, and the relationships with other Kingdoms.
It is somewhwere between the "happy D&D" and "Grimdark". There won't be a lot of focus on pestilence and plagues, filth and muck. The Kingdoms are pretty stable even if some of them are unfriendly with each other (Only Dapoli, Lucindia, and Valencia are openly at war with each other, and this is primarily because of Valencia's status as a pirate nation.) The campaign will focus on A"heroic" quests either in service of one of the nine kings or as mercenary heroes. Glory is the greatest prize a Hero hopes for, although gold, magic, and companionship are also nice. Female heroes are rarer then men, but their skill and power is no less recognized and afemale Hero is at least as far above the common man as the common man as he is above the common woman. Kings are above everyone except the gods, and there is one female King (The titles are considered Gender Nuetral)
Once I've given the Kingdom info, the group should come to a consensus regarding which King if any they will be working for.

Re: Interest Check BESM 3e Fantasy Game Monday Evenings 7EST
The first 3, more to come:
Aravoli-King Antredes Capital: Britysene
Allied With: Valencia Friendly Toward: Krecia, New Scotia, Panemia Neutral Toward: Glakow, Lucindia, Scotia Unfriendly Toward: Dapoli, Marund Warfare With: n/a
Chief Exports: clothing, foodstuffs, livestock, pottery, timber Chief Imports: gold, iron, ivory, literature, slaves, tools, wine Trade With: Dapoli, Glakow, Krecia, Lucindia, New Scotia, Panemia, Scotia, Valencia
Starting Adventure Seed: King Antredes has decided his youngest son must begin his own Heroic Quest, to explore the mists to the east and establish a new colony on whatever land he finds. He needs a group of heroes to support the twelve year old boy in his journey to manhood.
Aravoli is the largest and oldest of the ten Kingdoms. King Antredes has ruled Aravoli for as long as anyone living can remember. The oldest legends in the oral history are of Antredes and his band of Heroes who sailed from “outside the mists” to settle the wilds of Aravoli and defeat the monsters that held sway over the land. Antredes and his band brought civilization and peace to the land, bringing its indigenous people from their caves and crude shelters to form Britysene, The First City. Legend says Antredes is no ordinary Hero, but rather the son of the God of Love and a mortal beauty. Blessed with eternal youth and rakish good looks, Antredes possesses the cunning and skills of an immortal and the charisma which allows him to hold on to favor as well as power.
The people of Aravoli love their King, and he provides them with all they need in exchange for duty, loyalty, and service. As the most civilized of Kingdoms, it is not uncommon for most households to have slaves (mostly foreigners) for the more menial tasks in one’s life, so that even the most common of free men can dedicate himself to practicing the tasks he is most suited to in service of the King.
Dapoli- King Hagamar Capital: Ceylitius
Allied With: n/a Friendly Toward: Glakow, Panemia, Scotia Neutral Toward: Aravoli, Marund, New Scotia Unfriendly Toward: Krecia Warfare With: Valencia
Chief Exports: clay, copper, tools, wine Chief Imports: clothing, foodstuffs, grain, iron, ivory, timber Trade With: Aravoli, Glakow, Lucindia, New Scotia, Panemia, Scotia
Starting Adventure Seed: Pirates from Valencia have attacked the Midnight Star, one of Dapoli’s most lucrative merchant vessels. The Midnight Star had an extremely important item on board, and the King would like you to pursue the pirates and retrieve the item.
Dapoli is a proud island nation, ruled by ancient King Hagamar, a sorcerer in his waning years. Hagamar has three daughters but no sons. One of the three will inherit his throne, but he has not announced which, for fear of betrayal.
The people of Dapoli live difficult lives, needing to work hard to produce the exports the Kingdom needs in order to support importing some of the most basic of supplies, While grapes grow freely in Dapoli, very little else takes firm root, necessitating trade for other foods and goods. Luckily, Dapoli’s centralized location make it a major center for trade among the other Kingdoms.
Glakow- King Heretis Capital: Asas
Allied With: n/a Friendly Toward: Marund Neutral Toward: Aravoli, Panemia Unfriendly Toward: Dapoli, Krecia, Lucindia, New Scotia, Scotia, Valencia Warfare With: n/a
Chief Exports: gold, iron, silver Chief Imports: foodstuffs, livestock, slaves, spices, timber, weapons Trade With: Aravoli, Marund, Panemia
Starting Adventure Seed: Rumors have been floating around that Krecia has developed a new, magical pick, which will increase the work a man can do by tenfold. When the Krecians approached King Heretis in an attempt to set up trade agreements, he demanded a demonstration. Although the tool worked as promised, he declared it a failure, saying that the work of ten Krecians was still only worth half the work of a Glakowian. He had his spymaster follow the merchants back to Krecia to discover the inventor’s identity. Now that he has it, he wants you to sneak into Krecia, kidnap the inventor, gather any tools and diagrams you can, and return all of this to him.
Glakow is a harsh land, and its King, Heretis, and even harder man. But when your Kingdom contains the largest deposits of gold, iron, and silver in all of Teranov, you learn to protect it fiercely. They say that Glakow is a taste of Dergemont, for in Glakow, life is labor. If life is this harsh for the commoner of Glakow, imagine how much worse it must be for slaves purchased from Velentia. Some claim King Heritus is the son of a Fire Giant, and he certainly has the size and fiery temper to give justice to those claims.

Re: Interest Check BESM 3e Fantasy Game Monday Evenings 7EST
Krecia- King Benemas Capital: Coronton
Allied With: Panemia Friendly Toward: n/a Neutral Toward: Aravoli, Dapoli, Lucindia, Marund, New Scotia, Scotia Unfriendly Toward: Glakow, Valencia Warfare With: n/a
Chief Exports: livestock, spices, timber Chief Imports: foodstuffs, horses, ivory, jewelry, tools Trade With: Aravoli, Dapoli, New Scotia, Panemia, Scotia
Starting Adventure Seed: An ancient burial tomb has been discovered in the Galspa Mountains. The King’s counsel-seer has had a vision of dangerous creatures guarding a holy relic from the time before Aravoli’s settlement. King Benemas has decided to send your group to confront the monsters and return the relic to the church.
The island nation of Krecia revels in the simple life. Krecians enjoy their idyllic lives, protected by the benevolent King Benemas, a divinely blessed Priest-King of the Divine Pantheon. King Benemas inspires his people to live simply in service to the Gods, performing their duties towards the gifts the gods have bestowed upon them. Priests of the Pantheon permeate Krecia and children coming of age are brought before their local priests to be assigned their destined roles in service to the Kingdom.
Lucindia- King Jasperius Capital: Asea
Allied With: Marund Friendly Toward: Scotia Neutral Toward: Aravoli, Dapoli, Krecia, New Scotia, Panemia Unfriendly Toward: Glakow Warfare With: Valencia
Chief Exports: bronze, oil, ships Chief Imports: armor, jewelry, timber, weapons Trade With: Aravoli, Marund, New Scotia, Panemia, Scotia
Starting Adventure Seed: King Jasperius seeks to expand Lucindia. Three monster infected islands must be cleared of their inhabitants and colonies formed on their shores.
Lucindia, like Marund and Scotia, was founded by a member of Avaroli’s King Antredes’ original party of Heroes. Lucindia has passed through generations of Kings, becoming famous for its shipbuilding, supplying most of the ten kingdoms with trading vessels. King Jasperius is the newest King in the line, a young man of a mere nineteen years. A man of ambition, he seeks to expand his Kingdom to include the monster infested smaller islands off the coast.
Marund- King Feldanus VI Capital: Tiragius
Allied With: Lucindia Friendly Toward: Glakow Neutral Toward: Dapoli, Krecia, New Scotia, Panemia Unfriendly Toward: Aravoli, Valencia Warfare With: n/a
Chief Exports: armor, dishware, jewelry, weapons Chief Imports: bronze, gold, iron, oil, pottery, ships Trade With: Glakow, Lucindia
Starting Adventure Seed: Feldanus VI bids you to present yourselves to King Antredes of Aravoli as adventuring companions for Antredes’ son. In truth, you will be working for Feldanus to gather information and seek a weakness in the ancient King’s defenses.
Marund, founded by King Antredes’ companion, the original King Feldanus, is a militaristic nation, mostly mountainous. The people of Marund are taught to fight as soon as they can hold a weapon. Avoiding lavishness, Marundi are satisfied by a simplicity of lifestyle, the only exceptions being finely crafted jewelry depicting family histories and glorious battles. King Feldanus IV attempted to bring war against Antredes, and lost half the original Kingdom to Aravoli. Over time, some of that land has been reclaimed, but Marund stands reduced.
Feldanus V, fearing reprisals from Aravoli, signed a defense and prosperity pact with Lucindia and the two kingdoms have been fast allies since. Marundi warriors train Lucindian sailors in the art of war, aiding them with their struggles against Valencia while not officially joining the active war against the pirate nation.
Feldanus VI has ruled his Kingdom for almost twenty years and is quietly looking for a way to restore Marund’s former territories. Not wishing to incur the wrath of Antredes like his grandfather, Feldanus VI engages in quiet maneuvers to find a way to end the ancient King’s hold over the continent.
New Scotia- King Serenia Capital: Tunoreos
Allied With: n/a Friendly Toward: Aravoli, Dapoli, Krecia, Lucindia, Panemia Neutral Toward: Glakow, Marund Unfriendly Toward: Scotia, Valencia Warfare With: n/a
Chief Exports: art, clothing, jewelry, pottery Chief Imports: foodstuffs, grain, horses, timber, tools Trade With: Aravoli, Dapoli, Krecia, Lucindia, Panemia, Scotia
Starting Adventure Seed: King Serenia has secured Panemian permission to explore their ancient ruins in search of inspiration for new revolutions of art. These ruins are remote, and, as with much of Panemia, infested with dangerous and exotic creatures. Since the journey passes through Valencian waters, it is likely the pirates will be an obstacle on the way there, and almost certain on the return journey.
New Scotia, founded a little under a hundred years ago by King Lagamarius’ daughter Serenia, a powerful sorceress in her own right, came from her desire to return to Scotian ideals. New Scotia would return to the ancient ways of Scotia’s philosopher-founder Darius, dedicated to art and knowledge over comfort and wealth. Serenia sees her father’s country as decadent and lazy, lost to true art and knowledge.
Scotians looking for a renewal of purpose and freedom from the taxation and conformity of Scotia have flocked to Serenia’s visionary country. New Scotian art and science has revolutionized Teranov’s society.
a few more to go.....

I don't really like low magic settings, and this looks like that.
