 Anyone up for some L5R?
I'd love to get into an L5R campaign, either 1st. edition or 4th. edition. I'd rather play than GM but am capable of GM'ing.

I'm interested, but I'm from Europe. What timezones do you have in mind?

I'd be interested, but as a player and not a GM. Especially since I'd have to go get the rules.

I would be down for either swapping GM on and off with some one or playing. I am curious why either 1st or 4th? For my money, 3rd is the best bet at this point for maximum character options and recent material.

Re: Anyone up for some L5R?
I'd disagree heavily. 3rd was my least favorite, just after 2nd. 1st. edition is utterly fantastic. There are tons of options for it with all the books and supplements, most of which I own, and they kept the game simple at its core. The man who created the game, John Wick, left AEG after 1e was released. Every edition thereafter was done solely by AEG and it shows. John Wick did a fantastic job on L5R 1e. 4e is AEG's attempt to get back to a 1e feel while maintaining the options from 3e but without the crazy rules bloat. I have all this stuff on PDF too so we should good regardless. Most fans prefer 1e and 4e at this point. 2 part video review on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMbo8e3uFdoand part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNITXl4TS98&feature=related

3rd was an organizational mess, I will grant you that. But I will play whatever edition.

I can GM, if you need one (though I also wouldn't mind playing at some point). I'm fairly new to L5R (played a total of two games, one 3rd Edition and one 4th edition), but I really enjoy the system.
If it's a mixed Euro-American group (I'm British), then I suppose we should figure out sooner rather than later what times we'd all be available for playing.

Do you know the setting well? I'd love to play with a GM familiar with Samurai culture and that isn't opposed to players with secrets (ie Ninja), lol.
