Post Re: Savage Worlds -Zombie Run Chronicles- (formely afmbe group)
Any way we can push this back to 7:30 or so? I hate to do this to you but 7 is about right when I get home from work and I would be pushing it a bit, having to eat and what not.

The game was changed to 7pm due to peoples schedules, most cant game pass 12pm est, so a 7pm start fits an extra hour to the game, and the time tends to fly real fast. I can game until the sun comes up, but the time change was pretty much a group consensus that was decided when I used to run the game at 8pm est.

If you cant make it then its understandable.

You can participate though, but i dont know how enjoyable it will be for you if you are missing the first 30 minutes. It wont bother me if I have a player show up late, but you might feel a little left out since i occasionally leave sessions on a cliffhanger and/or leave narrative blocks in the intro, plus it will also leave your characters fate in the hands of the players if we leave off in a combat situation.

If you are still interested, or anyone else is interested, you can email me at my msn.com email account listed in the above posts for instructions on how to set everything up for my game.

The campaign sometimes disappears from the list for some reason. Ammo restarted the server, so I think you can join now.

Unfortunately, scavenging in a city that is estimated to have 8 million people (which means potential 8 million zombies) while firing off gunfire (in a silent city with no ambiance sound of city life) proved disastrous. Though the scenes of car explosions taking out a horde of them, sacrificial leaps by sword swinging heroes into a large crowd of hungry living dead, and an unfortunate shot and kill from an accidental shooting from one player to the next ( I am sure due to the panic of approaching dead as they swarmed the bar), resulted in a wipe... but a classic horror one. You took on the city of New York Dead and went out in style.

I would have liked if everyone survived since I spent time building up a story that never surfaced. But, I have to respect the zombie genre, and make all the above difficult as in the movies (though you took out at least 20 zombies), otherwise a world falling to the living dead so easily would seem foolish, especially if you guys walked into store-fronts, took what you wanted while standing there and shooting and slugging it out as more and more of them came. Only having to deal with a couple of zombies in that situation in an area of a city where its so populated you are constantly stepping on peoples toes would leave quite a hole in the story.

Next new game will be based on a smalltown write up I once wrote for AFMBE. Its 4 months after the fall of society, and the town you find yourself in is thriving in the chaos. A town that is a plateau off the waters of the mainland USA. Morality will be tested as right and wrong is blurred in the face of survival. The theme of whats right and wrong will be a constant question throughout your stay in Glade Falls.

What it all comes down to is... if its better to stay in a town that is losing its grip on humanity, or to seek safety elsewhere and discover what has become of the world you abandoned outside of Glade Falls.

Welcome to Glade Falls, where no one is allowed inside... or out...

-Whole new write up, due to this it will use all new characters, no bonus xp anymore, all fresh. You can use your 500 starting money to purchase weapons, Glade Falls so for is operational, so you can have access to weapons and items, but not uncommon ones.

-This will start as a communal game at first, as always, you are free to avoid storylines and go off on your own, you wont see me pidgeon-holing any actions. Just keep in mind, there is rarely a story if you trail off for reasons other than looking for supplies or shelter, its because nothing is happening there, theres no survivors most likley, and devoid of "living" life. If you like this style of gaming, then go for it, but you need to be good improv players, and it has to be within reason (like leaving Glade Falls because my intro here makes your nervous is not a good reason, I rarely if ever tip all my cards in my hands, dont be surprise if I bluff something due to your current characters knowledge, things may not always be what they seem, and you might miss out on a golden opportunity).

Same time... same station.

Note: you might want get a hold of me, there are a ton of edges that are not in the corebook that you can use for many concepts you might have.

Post Re: Savage Worlds -Zombie Run Chronicles
Background info (based on a background I once created)

History of Gladefalls:

Was a plateau off of the coast of Rhode Island that served as a base from incoming ships bringing produce for mainland trade in the US. It served as a checkpoint and shipyard, and became active during the rise of infections and diseases, one being the Tuberculosis rise in the 1890's, and over a century afterward. It was a temporary holding ground to check for infection of sailors, and the quality of the produce. Also well known for their medical practice called, Policy 1, this techinque was used efficiently to wash out produce and check for possible viruses and diseases from immigrant sailors, this was the foundation of many regulations still in use by the CDC to this day, which involves procedures of martial law, and safe zoning of infection. Gladefalls had several factories, shipping docks, and well known the world over for its quality medical facilities and staff, as many prominent doctors and scientists of the viral and field emerged from this area.

Eventually Gladefalls was phased out in due to New York becoming the major hub for all transport and trade. Eventually sailors and factory owners transformed the abandoned shipyard into a small town, and the medical staff continued their studies with sponsors attracted to the medical history of the town, eventually branching out into larger towns outside the plateau with Gladefalls being the hub of scientific and medical studies. To this day, Gladefalls has small ship trade activity, and is still well respected for its medical schooling and training. The town is completely rural, with only a small fraction of commerical shops and stores (major commerical areas lie over the waters in the nearby city across the waters, which has lost all power and remains in darkness and silence for the last 2 months, though sporadic gun fire have been reported). A large percantage of the land is made up of abandoned or semi-active ship yards and factories.

The Outbreak History

Not much is known about the virus, and many contradicting reports further add to the confusion displayed on every news channel across the world. Majority of the reports claim the virus is a new genetic flu hybrid that has remained dormant inside humans for generations, others claim its a new invented virus that has leaked out of a military lab, though officials have deemed the reports as Un-American and bordering on phsycological terrorism. Yet, even stranger are the reports of the dead rising and feeding on the living, and the actual threat is death itself and not viral as the media wrongfully reports.

Although the virus hit the country fast and hard within just a few days, scientists have discovered that it might have, or is airborne, and is now possibly exclusively spread by fluids; saliva and blood. The mass panic of murders and riots have not been directly linked to the virus, although many have claimed that the virus is the result of the infection itself, and have code worded it as "Super Rabies", officials claim the murders are unrelated, and are caused by fear and panic.

Gladefalls and the Outbreak

Gladefalls was never a popular destination point, so it was easy to avoid infection at first. Most of the attention went into the neighboring town that had triple the population of Gladefalls. The representative councilman offical of Gladefalls was elected as the 13th Doctor to have taken the position since they held elections years ago, he has been unoffically titled as Mayor by the town. He took it apon himself to enact Policy 1, and enforce martial law. Many of the deputies, and the Sherrif disputed the move, and it resulted in them abandoing the town in search of relatives outside Gladefalls. The only road that links the town to the mainland is closed, and rumour has it that it might be boarded up as a final measure to prevent any infection from sneaking through. Gladefalls have since blockaded the road, enacting full measures to keep any new refugees from attempting to enter, even going as far as shooting on sight, and patrolling the waters armed with scoped rifles.
