 Re: Mekton: Rosetta Eclipse
Basically the bio suit has reflex controls and 'controlled by a smaller mecha' built into it, so anything that has a SCAR (Standardized Control And Response) Interface it can link with and give the operator reflex controls, no matter the controls installed on the unit.
And Felix your forgetting the bonus you got for the critical roll on its development.
the suit does not have just 4 shots of heal that you refill.
It has 4 shots of heal and 4 shots of a non invasive drug of the creators choice, and the suit will 'refill' those shots at the rate of 1 every 4 hours.

 Re: Mekton: Rosetta Eclipse
I'd like to make a proposal before we move along to Lyanti.
We need to keep eyes in this system. We /do/ know how to detect when a subspace ship "links" to a realspace ship, so until we can discover a method to /prevent/ it, our best weapon and defense is to be aware. My first thought is to find out if Felix can salvage enough of his "lobotomized" ship (the one that had the wave drive removed) to put it to some use...if it is independent enough (i.e. won't need resupply,) capable of detecting above mentioned phenomena, and capable of relaying periodic updates to us, then that will be sufficient.
Second thought is to simply attach one of the sensor arrays we have laying around from salvage to a casing, and simply leave it floating in space with a comm array to keep in touch.
Third thought is regardless of which of those two options we use, Steven will /also/ alert the local Concordat battle fleet, and any relevant outposts established to watch for Perion ships to also watch for the phenomena and alert us.

 Re: Mekton: Rosetta Eclipse
I could perhaps create a creature to hang out with Ferruder on the planet and leave her there as a guard for a listening post creature of some sort?

 Re: Mekton: Rosetta Eclipse
Ferruder has already been 'claimed' by SIB, but, to the other idea, although a living creature might have trouble with long term on station keeping (havign to eat i a real pain) the application of the actual wavespace drive to a specialised listening device has some serious merit indeed. perhaps Felix and Sam should work on it together?
also, if you choose to bring this up with SIB (you now have a handy representative to contact in the form of Miriya) SIB could be willing to fund the actual cost of the devices (notice plural there) since they would find a use for them as well.

 Re: Mekton: Rosetta Eclipse
Well, it can "feed" on different things, it could have filters to nom passing space derbies or even absorb sunlight for example, some kind of self sufficient plant critter. Gilliart eats power after all, same concept larger scale. And which ones are the SIB? cause i might take issue with them 'claiming' part of my races history

 Re: Mekton: Rosetta Eclipse
While I understand your situation, Felix, bear in mind Ferruder is a tool of war, even if she is a Dargonese creation. She was brought to the planet by the Concordat and, while she may be an 'artifact' as it were, she would still be subject to the whims of the military's various branches. Besides, wherever they take her, she's gonna get some big jobs, so be happy.

 Re: Mekton: Rosetta Eclipse
Yes but she was also abandoned there, making her salvage we claimed think of all the other things we have pulled off old battle fields. And she may be subject to the whims of the military, but that military fleet is also subject to the whims of that giant homicidle battle station we recently became friends with

 Re: Mekton: Rosetta Eclipse
I'm going to stick with part of my original thought, which is that she'll be much happier being put to work blasting things with ship-scale artillery than anything we can put her to task doing.
Plus, I'm not even sure the Vulture has enough room in a cargo hold or anywhere for her.
