Charaters points are 150pts.
Send them to lostcauseinnyc(at)gmail.com
One paragraph of a story is best, since i will want to write in your stories as story plots and seeds for the game. This will be your chance to mold this campaign into something you want since I will reflect on your stories for inspirations, and it will revolve around these for the theme.
You are free to build whatever, Cowboys, Bandits, Business men who return to being ruthless enforcers (like in Unforgiven) Chinese labormen with Kung Fu skills, French soldier from europe, etc. If the group doesnt mesh well, then I will contact you with ideas to make them seem like they would be a group with common interest as opposed to a group wondering why they are a party in the first place. I am free on some days next week to help build characters if you do need the help, especially since I have the Old west Campaign book.
Game should start Thursday 7:30 pm est (5:30 mt) on the 27th.

I run a game set after the Civil War in 1870 (using OGL Wild West d20 rules). So knowing the year(s) would help in deciding the flavor of pc, gear/guns etc. I found the Old West book myself and if anyone needs it let me know. The 27th would be fine as a start date for me.

 Re: Interest check GURPS 4ED
Well, I broke the news to my wife about the game/time and she indicated rather strongly that would not work - it conflicts too much with dinner and bedtimes and such. So it looks like I'll have to bow out - sorry all. Better early than late, I guess. Sounds like a ton of fun, though. Enjoy yourselves, partners!

 Re: Interest check GURPS 4ED
Well I love the idea ...make it just post civil war ....there were a number of guerillas still on the loose because of what happened in missouri with the Youngers and the James and others that lost their lands and blamed the railroads and the bluecoats and the carpet baggers....loads of chaos. rebuilding the south and the north. good time frame. I would make either a native american scout or a texas ranger type. Depends on the makeup of the group, outlaws, guerillas, ex military.

 Re: Interest check GURPS 4ED
Post civil war is fine. I cant put too much detail in writing here since I am up to my neck in finals and final papers, and I havent had the chance to finish up on the Old West book. My intention is to make this is as close to history as possible.
I did have a bit of write up where everyone is with a chain of travellers who arrived at a new town in pursuit of a new life. Sort of like a rag tag group of people who try to make a new life in this new wild west town. Keep it open enough that it feels like a live town to explore and rp with, while you create your own path, but with some good storylines to add adventure.

 Re: Interest check GURPS 4ED
Yes, in total I have 4 interested, one of the 4 people absent (another site, not here). With you it would seem it would be 4, unless the other replies, which is still fine I can run this game with 5. I also have a friend that would want to join, but I want to make sure this group is solid before I add him. A good rpg group to me, is only as good as the players want it to be, and I dont want his experience being a bad one online. 5 is the asolute maximum, with 4 being the best (so I might leave him out as an alternate player instead). So once I get those character sheets sent to me I will close character recruitment.
My email is lostcauseinnyc(at)gmail.com
I might also run a second campaign. Either Fantasy (Atlantean or some weird Pre-historic Dinosaur type), or Modern alien conspiracy, or Ninja martial arts in modern America, or maybe Infinite Worlds. This might be later on down the road, it might be a morning or afternoon game if I get responses from people (so Europeans can play this). Email me if anyone is interested.

 Re: Interest check GURPS 4ED
I've been doing research, watching some films (historical and fictional) and reading about some of my favorite gunslingers/western stuff (plus trying out Red Dead Redemption new western Xbox 360 game). I will be working on my gunslinger over the next couple of days so expect him/her in your email by Sunday.
