I knew it.....stabs is trying to kill me again lol.
Actually that is a good idea, though it is up to the GM. There are more things than the palantir out in ME during this time. We are kinda heading toward Angmar.

Yes, of course I have no idea what Lando has in mind and he may have something epic already lined up for us. If so, then fantastic! But if he could get any kind of usage from Palantir Quest I thought I'd bring it to his attention since it is designed for the exact age and time we are in and is a complete campaign.

I don't have that module, but I do have Angmar and lots of other materials.. Angmar is definitely very epic.. got tons of treasures, traps and of course orcs/trolls/dragons etc.. There is also all the stuff inbetween Bree and Moria too for that matter. I would certainly take a look at it when I got time, but since you've read it I'll have to modify it a lot..grins.. Of course ya'll are going to need to be able to handle orcs, wargs and other things. It'd help if a couple more folks joined the group or I might let one or more of you play 2 pcs if you feel upto it. I can't play 4 NPCs all the time, it just makes the game kinda weird.

I haven't read Palantir Quest but I know that it takes place in the early 4th. age and is about a quest to uncover a lost palantir for King Elessar. That is all I know of it. If you would like a copy of it I can send it to you or link you to download it and you can use it with us eventually if you want. If not though I am still having fun. I am going to pitch the game to some guys I've played face to face with and see if they want to play with us online here.

Re: Middle-Earth (MERP) RPG (2-3 openings)
I just advertised our game at 3 different sites to try to find us a few more reliable players. In addition, I will ask some of the guys I play games with on Friday nights in our face-to-face games. I also created an Obsidian Portal homepage for our game to try to attract more players and to allow us to have campaign resources stored there. One feature is that you can have an adventure log there where you can summarize each adventure session. Is anyone in the group a good writer and would like to keep a journal of our adventures in Middle Earth there? I will be adding to this page for the campaign as time goes on. http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/middle-earth-roleplaying-merp-2e-online-openrpg

Re: Middle-Earth (MERP) RPG (2-3 openings)
Guys, I have no clue how the level up process works and need a lot of help. This is my first time dealing with MERP, so all the terminology and books become very confusing for me. I'll try to be online early before the game if someone can help me figure it all out. Thanks in advance.

I can help you. It is pretty simple once you understand it.

Re: Middle-Earth (MERP) RPG (2-3 openings)
Its pretty basic Ky.
1) Development Points are profession based and are located in the chart you used for your aprenticeship part of your character build.
2) DPs count for rank as so: 1 DP = 1 rank 3DP = 2 rank To add rank into another area not already learned, 4 DP to start off, then normal transfer rule. To transfer DP from one skill to another: 2 DP per 1 rank in the skill you already know but don't have dp for.
3) I would say you can't go over 2 ranks per skill per level, but honestly. It doesn't matter. The DP works out to the point where you pretty much can only boost a skill a total of 3 ranks. Personally you need the points in a plethora of skills so I would follow the 2 ranks per skill per level rule.
Remember spell list information is in your adolencse chart based on race. Stabbz, you get a spell list this go around?

Re: Middle-Earth (MERP) RPG (2-3 openings)
I did indeed get a new spell list. I now have Moving Ways and Nature's Guidance. I have more spell points now as well, thanks to my IT going up a bit from stat increases.
If you are still having trouble when the game rolls around on Saturday, Ky, I'd be happy to help you out prior to the game. Or perhaps if you like, I could do it any day before the game as well. You really can only increase a skill by 2 ranks realistically on any DP allotment.

nice to hear. I have lofty bridge spell list....in the end it will give us a teleport for us, but for now, I can only leap and land.
