Re: Barbarians of Lemuria CONAN anyone?
That pic is awesome, Jeff. Especially since that's the exact kind of sword Cheluk would be using.
In a week or two I'm going to start the habit of drawing my own character portraits. I'm what you call an art student (though I don't have any formal teaching), so what you'd get is pretty amateur, but if you're interested talk to me next week about it. I have to do some anatomy studies this week, and the fun part is this is completely my decision (fuck college, I'm a rebel.)
Oh, and James, I wouldn't be too concerned with the "alignment" of your patron god. In truth, Robert E. Howard (the creator of Conan) did more then suggest that priests of
any god could be basically manipulators and sometimes even sorcerers, the 'miracles' and divination they perform not being any more then tricks or dark sorcery in disguise. But he also left it open, so you could also decide that priests
are actually in touch with their gods, and actually do perform minor miracles and divine the future; it's entirely up to you, really.
But, hey, my word isn't the authority here. Are priests in Hyboria 'legitimate'? I think it's more appropriate for the setting to leave the question open, and priests should be as bad or good as they want to be. This is a relevant and interesting article, I think:
