Re: Who's interested in a weeknight PF AP game (7-10PM Centr
OK, so lets go over some of the details of some of the background stuff going on in game.
I forgot to mention but I am definitely telling Oleg that we have invited 60 well paid professionals into the area and my budget for wages included buying foodstuffs from Oleg, he probably wants to call his distributors and up his orders of consumables and assorted goods as he runs the only store in miles. Should probably clue in Bokken as well.
We should commission a
coin stamp so we can turn the product of our mine into currency we can pay people to do stuff with. I'm thinking a bear on one side and a radiant stag on the other. I don't think anyone will object to us minting unique coins.
Here is the deal that we need to worry about for a while, paying and feeding 60 people is going to cost 140 gold a week and since traveling to the site is dangerous in itself we are paying them a week just for getting to the site.
Right now we have 305.15 gp in the party kitty, so without dipping into personal budgets we have a weeks pay on hand, selling the cold Iron sickle should net us another week (156 gold should be half the price which I think is the sale price). I don't want people to arbitrarily dump money into the party fund but I you to be aware that if the gold mine fails to pan out everyone is going to need to figure out how to make 24 gold a week each. I honestly do know know how much the mine will pan out but hopefully it will produce enough to pay our employees. We may want to open Taverns near the mine and the temple in order to recoup some of what we spend on wages but that strikes me as somewhat manipulative.
We also need to talk to the Kobolds. They are living in a silver mine so we should look into either buying ore from them or getting the rights to mine in Sootscale territory. Kobolds are natural miners so we probably just need to trade with them to make a workable profit, I have a feeling Kobolds have a place in the world we are creating.
Remember how I talked about the
River Traditions? Well when 60 people come to us for work we are going to need to make and oath to protect them. Our word needs to be our bond on this, people need to know that when we promise something, it gets done. Luckily we wont need to do much as both sites will have ten warriors to guard them, the mine will hopefully make enough to pay people so we can keep our oaths.
Also, remember that we need to look into the cost of
looking like we are in charge. Right now its not that useful but once we have people around us, Court outfits, armor with heraldry and banners and personal heraldry are going to show everyone that we are the boss.
I'm going to go ahead and dip into the credit to order the rest of the heraldic pavilions and order a masterwork set of drafting tools (someone has to fulfill their lifelong ambition of designing a temple, a hunting lodge and hopefully a city or two.).
I just realized this was incredibly long winded so here is the
tl,dr version:
In two months we need enough money and at least the appearance of respectability because 60 people are going to be looking at us for orders.
