 Re: Interest Check: X-Men
I'll take another look at my schedule and see what other days/times I might be available.
For those without the book, if you want to submit character concepts, I could probably stat them up for you. The game is basically Mutants & Masterminds 3e, so if you're familiar with any of the previous incarnations, the concepts will be mostly familiar. That said, I don't mind teaching the system as we go anyway.
Regarding Skype, it is a free program for basic use. However, if the majority don't want to use voice, I'd be ok; just realize that gameplay will be a bit slower that way. The upside to not using voice is having the log to refer to.
Once I figure out other days/times, I will post them.

I dont mind skype but I dont have a mic so I hear I will say hearing the GM helps out with rules which is what slows things down at times. Just whatever

 Re: Interest Check: X-Men
Mondays are fine for me but I'm most likely going to be working until 8 EST. Everything else is fine for me, though.

 Re: Interest Check: X-Men
I am running a game on monday and tuesday and I think my thursday game has fallen apart so Monday and Tuesday are the only days that are not good for me

 Re: Interest Check: X-Men
Monday works for me, but I have a game Thursday plus obligations on Fridays and some Saturdays. Sundays I need for schoolwork. I should be able to do Tuesdays or Wednesdays, but that isn't quite as solid.
A question: Any limitations on powers, given we are mutants rather than aliens, heroes with battlesuits, etc?

I'd rather not see:Magic, Gadgeteering, or any other "I can have any power I want" powers.

 Re: Interest Check: X-Men
well players are suppose to be mutants and most of them only have few powers. Not like a Green Lantern, Batman, Dr. Strange or Superman who has a vast array of abilities & powers Also, power level 8 is an excellent pick for starting.

 Re: Interest Check: X-Men
I get that. Just want to have it written down so there aren't issues later. And I agree about PL 8 for high school mutants.
Also, while the number of powers can matter, it's more in how you use what you have. Intelligence and creativity almost always trump Hulk Smash.

 Re: Interest Check: X-Men
I mean arrays should follow a theme.
For instance, you can do a lot with "Weather Control", "Telekinesis", "Telepathic Abilities". I don't mind people coming up with new uses/stunts for their powers which make sense for that power. What I mind is people coming up with whatever power they need for the situation. The example of Green Lantern is a good example of what not to go with: his power is "limitted only by his imagination and willpower." Which is fine for a solo hero, not so good for a team game. So, yeah, no Proteus, no later-day Scarlet Witch, etc.
Now, this isn't to say you can't have a variety of minor powers; Nightcrawler, for instance, has teleportation, wall-crawling, and blending into shadows, which don't really follow a theme per say, but they are specific and, except for the teleportation, pretty minor.
