Re: The Lord of the Rings RPG [Decipher]
I am reading through the core rulebook again right now and I agree....I am all for longer sessions too if we can swing it. Have you decided if you want to GM it yet, Ross? We should discuss characters soon once people have read pretty far into the core rulebook.

Also from my years of being on OpenRPG anything longer than 4 hrs and people tend to flake off, don't show or try to multitask and lose track of what's going on. If I GM it will have to wait until I'm more familiar with the rules and am not overwhelmed by personal illness and graduate studies. So it'll be December at the earliest.

Re: The Lord of the Rings RPG [Decipher]
We are all reading through the core rules again and I just now received my order from Hill's Wholesale Gaming. It contains The Hero's Journal, core rulebook, Fellowship of the Ring sourcebook, Helm's Deep sourcebook, Fell Beasts and Wonderous Magic, The Two Towers sourcebook, and narrator screen. I already owned 3 of these books previously so I will have 2 copies each of 3 of these. It was a really great deal. I got all those brand new for only $35.
Is everyone ok with using the rest of this month to study the books and learn the game thoroughly and then start in December? Did you have any interest in GM'ing as well, trollblood2008?

I am not 100% on GMing this game. I have my PF game on Tues nights that I run and I have the Deathwatch game on Thurs, so I am not sure that I could swing it with my classwork and all. I really don't know, although if you ever need someone to run on the fly I may do so.

Re: The Lord of the Rings RPG [Decipher]
My only suggestion....
if it will be December - I know, a couple weeks...unless your talking after finals...which would also mean waiting until next year as christmas/new years get hectic around here - and probable around everyone...
is that we either use this forum or get together online before hand to do the characters. If we are going to have to give the GM extra time, we might as well give him the characters to work with. Just let me know what everyone things.
As for making characters....are we thinking the fixed point method....just so there is no need to roll, witness it, and than have people who are not happy from complaining/leaving/etc....

Re: The Lord of the Rings RPG [Decipher]
I'm alright with meeting to discuss pc creation. I've only glanced at the rulebook on the pdf side. I'm considering getting that deal for all the books, but I have finals/graduate projects myself to do/finish which is why I'm not starting soon. I've also been somewhat ill and I got injured last night (hit my face, broke 2 teeth) so life's not been pleasant lately.
Anyhow, I could meet online tonight or tomorrow for a little bit inbetween stuff if anyone would like too.
