You get starting credits plus if you work for the government you get free furnished housing, free basic transport to get to work and a monthly income of 2500, the first payment of which leaves you with 1500 to add to your starting credits after subtracting rent and basic monthly necesitties.
Furthermore depending on your job you can requisition some equipment.
Republic Intelligence personell get a free hold-out blaster, commlink and bracer pad to start out with.

If you're send on a mission you can requiisition mission-specific equipment (although in general you don't get to keep requisitioned equipment afterwards).

The current group consists of a skilled forensics droid and a former jedi turned cop.
