I just installed this last night, and I messed around with it a bit today. However, it suddenly stopped working, and will not start up. Usually I just stop, reinstall and try again. Which I did 3 times now. And, it tries to start, begin to load in the python screen and then stops. I think that is what you call the splash screen, but regardless, I double click on the OpenRPG icon and it loads quickly and shuts off just as quick. If there is an error message its gone to quick to read it. I read the problems and workarounds page. Only thing it really says is Reinstall - so I did like I said 3 times now, even uninstalling and reinstalling Python in the process. Anyone have any ideas? Raith |

Is there a crash report in the OpenRPG folder? There should be a text file there. Post it here. Also what operating system are you using? |

*Sigh* we were trying to get away from the "Got a problem? Reinstall" style answers. Is that really the impression our problems and workarounds page gives? Unhappy ![]() The crash report text file should be called crash_report.txt If you can't find it then you can get the error message before the DOS-like box closes by following these steps (assumes Windows): (1) Open a windows CMD box / DOS-like box. Go to the start menu / the windows button at the bottom/left of the screen. There should be a box to type the name of the program you want to run. Type "cmd" and hit return. You should open up a DOS-like box. (2) Change directory to the OpenRPG directory. Type eg, "cd c:/OpenRPG" or whatever the directory is called. The prompt should become "c:/OpenRPG>" (3) Start OpenRPG. Type "start_client.py". And then the error message should be displayed in the DOS-like box for you so you can tell us what it is. Note that you can go to the top left corner of the DOS-like box and select from that menu "Edit -> Select All" and then "Edit -> Copy" to copy all the text in so you can just paste it here. I don't know why they don't allow you to just hit Ctrl-C on the DOS-like box. |
