I've seen some issues similar to this, but nothing quite like mine mentioned in the forums, so I figured I'd start a new post and hope someone can help me. I've tried deleting and reinstalling Python, ORPG, and even using Traipse instead, and no matter what, I can't get ORPG to open. I don't even get a splash screen. The moment I double-click, I get maybe a second of a "loading" mouse icon, then nothing. No indication its done anything than load nothing for a split second. I'm out of ideas on how to fix this, and my friend isn't getting anywhere with finding a solution so far either. I am running Windows Vista, and currently using 1.7 version for ORPG. |

What versions of Python and wx.Python are you using? |

The version that was available with the ORPG download. When that didn't work after retrying it a good 10 times, I tried it with 2.7, but that didn't work either so I'm out of ideas. EDIT: Think it was 2.5 or something. |

Ok. If you are going to try Traipse all of the Python and wx.Python files are on the files tab. They may have floated towards the second page as I have added pictures and other files. This is the Traipse install guide: http://traipse.assembla.com/wiki/show/t ... stallation |

I already tried Traipse. It did the exact same thing as ORPG. |

But did you try those Python installs? EDIT: The problem I think you are having, and I may be wrong, is that you are using old versions of Python and wx.Python. |

I'd honestly prefer using ORPG if I can just get it working. And it should be the version of ORPG that it wants since I got the versions when I downloaded ORPG. So, unless they have the wrong version on the website, I don't see how I could have an old version. |

Ok. Then you will need to ask David for help. |

Who is David? EDIT: Actually, nvm. I managed to finally get my computer to let me download and install ORPG 1.8, and it opened. Unless it dies too, I may not need help now. |

David Byron. He works on the Gilcrease OpenRPG version. I do not any longer. |
