Post Traipse-Can I change default Snap-to from Center to Top Left
Hello,

Does anyone know if there is a way to change the default snap-to setting for miniatures in the map to Top Left instead of Center? Currently I have to select each item and go to properties -> snap-to alignment -> Top Left.

Thanks!

Nope. Sorry, there is not. But that is a good idea for the next Milestone of Traipse.

You are welcome. I am steady working on the next milestone but it is going to be a major change. I am removing wx.Python and replacing it with PyQt. PyQt has a lot of advantages over wx.Python. wx.Python is really just a set of libraries for making the UI look nice, but PyQt is an entire tool set, allowing for light effects, animations, pretty UI, video, audio ... it's pretty awesome.

I'll ask that you check out OpenWorld: http://traipse.assembla.com/wiki/show/open-world

My development for the Pious Paladin milestone is going to be in steps. I will take the major components from Ornery Orc and split development up making useful software with each component. Right now OpenWorld uses the Game Tree. It's not at the level of awesome that I want it, and some things still don't work ... but I am getting there.

Be sure and read my Stand Up reports on the OpenWorld trac. After I get the nodehandlers working 100% I am going to add a feature that allows people to update from the software. It's not going to be as extensive as Traipse's Update Manager, it just adds the option. Once that is added to the software I'll probably release the first ZIP file so you can download it. It doesn't require setup, just Python and PyQt

My own thought on the snap to was to try and estimate the size of the mini and alter behaviour accordingly.

Really a 2x2 mini ought to be still centered but centered in the middle of the nearest 2x2 block -- ie centered upon a vertex. Every time I use the top/left method I am really trying to deal with a 2x2 iimage I want centered. The problem is how to tell what size the image is in squares? You could make the user specify, or you could guess based on the dimensions.

A lesser concern was how to deal with large minis on ISO and hex maps.
