Do you mean like what .exe do you double click on type of stuff?

To be honest I can't recall exactly what the present installer defaults to doing but ,
(1) You might find an icon on your desktop (looking either like a brown d20 or a white piece of paper with a blue and yellow squiggle).
(2) You might find an entry under your Start menu and under Programs in the OpenRPG folder (if you have Windows)
(3) You will certainly find .py and .pyw files in the OpenRPG folder where the installer placed it (eg C:\OpenRPG) and you can double click on eg start_client.py to get OpenRPG working.

Depending on what version you have....

--------------------------------------

or do you already ahve that figured out but when you try doing it an error occurs?

I went to the Sourceforge link on the site downloaded 1.7.1 and opened up the exe and installed it but there wasn't any icon on the desktop no exe to open the program nothin. Just a bunch of misc files for it and a bunch of .py files and i ain't got nothing to open up .py files

The Python Interpretor should have come with your install. It opens Python (.py) files.

I was thinking the other day that we need to redirect from that page to the assembla site or at least have a copy of 1.8.0 there and the installer for 1.8.0. I am not sure if I have permission for that or not.

OK anyway the problem is simply that we don't use the source forge site for the most recent stuff.
Haven't for years.

Try going to this page and getting a more up to date version:
http://www.rpgobjects.com/index.php?c=orpg&m=getorpg

Plus that page will give you an actual installer and install Python and wxPython if you don't already have them (both required for OpenRPG).
If you have any problems please mention them here.
Thank you.
