OpenRPG crashes after splash screen

Problem:
After the splash screen, the program crashes with error message of (last line), 'AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'FNB_COLORFUL_TABS'"
Fix:
You are using wxPython 2.8.11.0 and you need wxPython 2.8.10.1
More details:
Go to the wxPython downloads page on SourceForge and get the right version of wxPython 2.8.10 for you:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/wxpython/files/

If you have Python 2.6 and win32 processor then this is the one:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/wxpyth ... e/download

If you have upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10 and started getting this error, the fix is reasonably easy.

Open openrpg/orpg/orpg_windows.py in gedit. Click on Search and choose Replace, in the Search box type FNB.FNB_COLORFUL_TABS and in the Replace box type FNB.FNB_COLOURFUL_TABS and then click the Replace All button. Once its finished, save the file and start OpenRPG, it should work fine now. If you are having trouble you can download the modified file from my site.

I have an issue where I have opened OpenRPG and then docked the server window at the top. This caused it to replace my map window. when I closed the server window the map did not return. When I used the Windows menu to reopen it, the list said it was active, but i could not find it anywhere on my screen. So I went to Browse Servers and that window won't show up either!!

I am incredibly frustrated by the program at this time as it has become useless to me without map or ability to join servers.
I EVEN TRIED UNINSTALLING THEN REINSTALLING and all it did was load up my previous window config from cache memory so I STILL HAD NO MAP OR WEB SERVERS.

Please help....

Try looking in your myfiles folder for the layout.xml file and delete that while the software is not running. A new one will be created when you start the software.

Thank you Ebral! it worked exactly as you said. Should make that a section in their help document labeled "In Case You Fuck Up Your Interface!"
I kept looking for a Restore Defaults or similar options...man, once you putz with with those little windows you can't get 'em back!

Thanks again for your assistance, sorry for the rage post. I was frustrated cuz this happened as my group was preparing for the session that night.

So for the benefit of all others:

If you do happen to screw around with your windows and have one or more run away on you and can't get them back; just Close OpenRPG, then go into the My Files folder where you installed the program and DELETE the Layout.xml file. When you start OpenRPG again, the Layout.xml file will be recreated with default settings.
Done.

The first error in the list with the correct wxPython version is helpful, however, it's useless if you have the current (2.7) series of Python installed. Thus, I suggest adding a link directing to http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.6.6/ since there's no 2.7 version listed there as far as I can see.

I did it. Fixed the issue immediately.

Because there are problems with 2.7 compatibility.

I'm having an issue specific to Triapse installations, when typing into chat the <enter> key insets a newline character instead of sending the entered text to chat, I've tried unistalling python wxpython and triapse and reinstalling, but it makes no difference, I do not have the issue when using the standard openrpg, though that has its own set of bugs that plague me

I saw this happen as well - when I used the Enter key on my keypad. When I used the Enter key near the letters - it sent the message.
