I dont have the exact syntax of the error written down, but it was to the effect of "could not load [long temp filename here]. file does not exist"

and the mini was off a player's HD, I believe.

Ok, this is the point I am trying make. The issue is with DJ's remote image server and not with OpenRPG. Here is how the image server works. User uploads an image to the server, the server gives that image an expiration date, the image server sends the user a link to the image. When the image expires it is removed from the server so the link provided by server becomes broken.

Oh. Well how do I fix that?
Also, what's the deal with getting the same error for the map, which is on MY HD? I need that map.

Neither you nor I can fix that. It's up to DJ.

And as for the map, again I am asking the same question. Did images come from a players HD?

EDIT: You can start using the CherryPy plugin if you want. That allows a folder on a players HD to be accessed like a web page.

Well the map was loaded from my HD on my computer. Like - I drew it, saved it as XML, erased the board, then tried to re-load the map to test if the function worked and got this error.

So ur saying I should probably just have players load images to the web if I want them to be able to post usable minis/maps?
And sure, I'll check it out. Thanks <3

Ok.. what version are you using? Traipse? The Gilcrease release of Open? Also, what is your build number? It's the number in the curly brackets - {}

I can't help. Maybe David can. It sounds like you may have an error in the XML. A likely problem is the use of single or double quotes. Since the build number for what ever they call their version is never updated it is impossible to tell if you have seen any patches.

You might try Traipse. Traipse has a lot of stability fixes over ... whatever is their version. It's not 'regular' or 'standard' in my book. It's the Gilcrease Release.

Ah.
...well I only JUST heard of OpenRPG last week, so... XD

btw (this actually JUST happened), I have a node added to a character sheet for spells and such. It's a tabber with 11 charts, one for stats and one for the 10 lvls of spells and their variables
Well I closed out of it halfway through writing in a character's spells so that it would save... and then the node started acting weird. whenever I opened it it would be way smaller than normal, stuff would be overlapping, and there were no tabs - you could only see the stats tab at the beginning.
Then I just deleted it and tried to re-load the character's save file, but it kept telling me it couldn't cuz it contained a corrupt node, so I ended up having to use the OLD old save of him to overwrite it, and now I'm in the long process of re-writing all the new stuff.

Basically - how the hell do nodes get corrupt, and what can I do to prevent this?

I don't know. The XML may get malformed.

I have done some work with Traipse to allow for proper XML formatting. Single and double quotes are replaced with the XML equivalent of them because they can cause a major headache.

Example: <node data="string" />

In the example, if a user retrieves data they will get the object 'string' ... but if the user sets as "string" which looks like

<node data=""string"" />

The user receives a corrupted node with a malformed token. This happens in map nodes, with the whiteboard, and can happen in text nodes.
