A friend recommended I try and uninstall it, then re-install it without doing the updates... x.x Going to try that.

Post Re: Help?
My friend just had that same problem. A windows update ruined something in wx.Python and now the modules doesn't work correctly.

What I did to fix his was opened the orpg_windows.py file in an editor and found the text |FNB.FNB_COLORFUL_TABS and had him delete it. Be sure to delete the pipe |

It's a problem that a previous Windows update caused. We couldn't have even expected it. Sorry.

Hm. I might have given you a bum version of wxPython. It said it was 2.8.11 I know 2.8.10 is good. You'd think an extra minor version would be fine but we've had issues before with such a minor difference.

Sigh. Well if reinstall doesn't work try downloading and running this version of wxPython:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/wxpyth ... e/download

That's wxPython 2.8.10.1 for Python 2.6 (which you have) and win32 (not win64). I believe that's the version the OpenRPG installer attempts to install. I wonder why it fails. It has failed before on a virtual machine brand new / clean Windows Vista I think, or was that Windows 7?

==========================================

Well I just read prof.ebral's comment and perhaps that's more likely. If that is true then we better get an update out quickly. Seems like a weird bug to be caused by a Windows update.

Well there's no mention on-line about this failing with a recent windows upgrade. Is this with Windows Vista only or something? That sounds bad for wxPython. Are we going to have everyone with Windows Vista screwed up? I am on Windows Vista but I haven't been upgrading Windows so I can try doing so to see if that messes me up. It just seems like something the wxPython folks would be all over.

It just happened. Seriously just discovered with a recent update. I don't have all of the answers. Face it David, wx.Python is going the way of the dinosaur.

Not sure why my responce didn't show up when I typed it hours ago... but I'll try reposting. It worked, I ended up uninstalling a the Python and reinstalling it after the xxPython thing downloaded and installed.... after that, everything worked and still does.

Post Re: Help?
And I just updated my Vista to be current and my OpenRPG still works fine. So it appears that that error is somehow related to some bad installation issue which is unknown at present. At any rate we don't have to panic that half of our users are about to get hosed.
