Help?
I'm new to the OpenRPG RP style, and I can't seem to get the program to work. I'm not the most "tech-savvy" girl, so if someone could please help me figure it out. I'm operating on Windows Vista and, after installing everything, everytime I go to open the file OpenRPG I can see the small command prompt window open, and then it immediately disappears. Any thoughts?

Re: Help?
I've been trying to follow the steps from that thread. The same thing happens when I try to open any/all the files inside the unzipped Traipse folder. x.x I don't know how to "pause" it long enough to get a picture of it either...

Re: Help?
Are you unzipping it?

Re: Help?
Yes, it's been unzipped. I found the file "setup" in there but it does the same thing as when I try to open the OpenRPG program.

Re: Help?
Alright.. if you can't run setup.py you have a bigger problem. Did you install wx.Python? If so .. what version?

Re: Help?
It sounds like it might be a Python issue. If it is something else then the a crash-report.txt file may have been produced inside the OpenRPG / Traipse folder. If so please post the contents of that file.
Otherwise it might be best to run the program from the command prompt. Now to get a Command Prompt up (I am not sure if this is the same for Windows 7 but this works for Vista) either go to the Start menu and cliick on Command Prompt, or press the Windows Button (the one between the Ctrl and Alt buttons) and R at the same time and then type in "cmd" and hit return.
Once you have a command prompt you need to change directory to get to where the OpenRPG is so type something like this:
"cd C:\openrpg" or wherever you have installed OpenRPG. When you get there type in "start_client.py" and that should start OpenRPG but any errors reported will stay up long enough for you to see them (and you can copy the text using the secret menu the prompt has located in the top left hand corner -- if you don't want to copy the message by hand or take a screen shot and post it somehow).

Re: Help?
I have Python 2.6.2. That's the one I got when I started to install it.
Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Users\Public\OpenRPG\start_client.py", line 7, in <module> runpy.run_module('updater.gui', run_name='__main__', alter_sys=True) File "C:\Python26\lib\runpy.py", line 136, in run_module fname, loader, pkg_name) File "C:\Python26\lib\runpy.py", line 54, in _run_module_code mod_loader, pkg_name) File "C:\Python26\lib\runpy.py", line 34, in _run_code exec code in run_globals File "C:\Users\Public\OpenRPG\updater\gui.py", line 6, in <module> import wxversion ImportError: No module named wxversion
That's what it says when I try to use it off the command prompt.

Re: Help?
So wxPython failed to automatically load for some reason. Ok well we can install it by hand. Try grabbing it from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/wxpyth ... e/downloadDownload it and double click on it to install it.

Re: Help?
lol, I feel like a bother... that worked, it updated and now it opens the Updater thingy. But right after it finishes updating, that OpenRPG screen loads, then disappears to. But I think I have a crash-report thing now.
