I don't use them and it looks like the unreleased 1.8.0+ developer version has whispering broken.

The way whisper tabs seem to work is that each tab is a mail box for send / receive from the (single) identified player. And then there's the GM tab which theoretically sends to any number of GMs and is hard to say whether it should receive from them all or not. There's also a "players" tab you can get which again referring to several player ids is ambiguous in what it is supposed to do.

In preference to this view I would prefer each tab to be a separate "room within a room" so that eg you could have one tab for private communication between you and player 2 and another tab for communications between you and players 2 and 3. If you were playing a game of Diplomacy using OpenRPG you'd definitely want to know who was getting to listen into all the communications. As it is a receipt tab doesn't tell you who else heard each message / line of text.

I would think a tab for all OOC comments would be useful - a "whisper to all" room. This would be an easy way to not show crap in the log. Analagous to an OOC thread in PBP. This would also be the ONLY room a lurker could send chat to perhaps?

I would think /whisper ought to first issue a /tab command so the first whisper isn't showing up in the main chat window.

use of /gm is broken with probably an import needs tweaking.
and the tabs don't open up. No big deal; it's probably just another broken import as part of getting rid of old libraries like orpg_windows, and the from XXX import * stuff.
