However, Traipse will still not open, and neither will the setup.

And do you still get the same 'Permission denied' error? Because if you do .. that is the root cause.

Ok, I am certain that is your problem. You need to be able to write to those folders. Once you can write to those folders then I can help you move on .. but as long as you have a 'Permission denied' error, not only will you have degraded play, you will unlikely be able to save your game tree, create a game tree, save your settings, create settings, save your layout, create a layout, save a server settings INI, create .. and on and on.

Huh. Wonder how he got those permissions working. I was wondering if it was the old "run python.exe as administrator" issue that Vista had. But I haven't heard much about that for a long time and it is so obscure he wouldn't have stumbled across it (probably).
