It did not start. This is to say that nothing occurred save that the command prompt flickered for half a second.

I did a DIR to show what files are there, though.

That's why you don't have a layout, and that is why you are having problems.

In your error I can see that you do not have permission to 'write' to files for some reason. Your problem is based around file permissions. Are you the computer Admin? Can you check to make sure you do not have a Permissions problem, that maybe your folders are 'read-only'?

I am the Administrator.

I've checked if the folders were "Read-Only", and I've unmarked that restriction.

I then tried to start the program, but still, nothing. Also, the standard still looks like the OP.

but do you get the same error in the Command Prompt? And do you have a layout.xml created yet?

I do not get the error anymore that you asked me to show you by inputting "traipse.pyw" into command prompt.

It however still does not open.

Also, this:

This is what "myfiles" look like in each directory.

That is, before I took the "default_layout.xml" and copied it into the folder as "layout.xml", which did nothing.

ok .. but you had a permissions problem before. I want you to do two things.

1. Open your task manager and make sure that you do not have any python or pythonw processes running. If you do, kill those and then try again in the command prompt. If you see an error post a screen shot here.

If that fails.
2. Re-run setup.py. I think this is pretty worthless since you may have all of the files already, but because you had a Permissions problem it might help. Running setup will rename your System folder and create a new one with new source.

I think we are bearing down on the problem. Thanks for your patience.

While I am none too happy with the circumstances, I'm much, much grateful for you particularly having stayed this long with me.

I just think it's funny that you're the one thanking me.

When I ran setup.py, I got this error. Is it the same as the previous?

Also, a blank window opened up, titled "OpenRPG Setup Wizard".

It cannot be typed into.

XD. According to someone else I am a scholar and a gentlemen .. I guess that extends even here.

yeah, again you have a permissions problem. It's trying to make a directory and can't.

Considering that you have been unable to even run Traipse the first time, feel free to delete the three System folders whenever you want. But you will need to tinker around with your computer until you have the correct permissions.

I really think that is your problem ... Permissions. Check your permissions for Python and also your permissions for the Traipse folder.
