I remember AVG was causing problems, I do not know if Avast causes problems.

Check whatever web browser you are using then.

No proxies for my connection (gogo firefox for hiding that tab in it's bowels...)

All i should have to do, is open the browse servers menu and get a list of servers right?

Traipse, Regular doesn't open still :P

I get "Cannot load image from file ":": file does not exist"

Ah now we are getting somewhere at last but please check on the EXACT punctuation and wording so we can Google that error message which appears to be a Python code error. I had figured it was the url2lib stuff but now that sounds more like an image handling library. So you are connecting and pulling down the file but its garbled somehow. I'm not finding anything with that EXACT wording and punctuation as it stands.

Good news : I am now able to reproduce the bug. See if that helps. Except I get an actual temp filename instead of just "colon" as the file name. So maybe you have additional weirdness.

Post Re: A few problems...
See if that helps me figure it out. Well it didn't. Much.

Not exactly the same and I don't know how I got it happening. It seems like openrpg 1.8.0.4 was looking for the image file locally in a directory for temp files where it had been downloaded by Windows I guess. But the file had gone. As soon as I loaded the same image through another openrpg 1.8.0.4 it immediately could be loaded in the first one. The error message is from WxPython. But in my case I was having the local address of the file inside the quotes and you just have a colon. In my case I was loading a mini by a photobucket url so I assume the OS (Windows Vista in my case) was responsible for sorting out how the url was translated into a local file. If it is going wrong somehow then perhaps some setting to do with how temp files are cached would be able to fix it.

The image in question had been loaded successfully earlier in the session by several hours.

Without a way to reproduce it again I'm not much further forward.

that is the problem, david. It can't load the temp image data. Traipse just shows a colon for some reason.

I am willing to bet it is his firewall.
