im new here, and i was wondering if there is a way to play 2nd edition AD&D on OpenRPG. ive read that its possible, but i have no idea where to start on how to get it to work.

Yeah it's possible. OpenRPG is really a virtual game table software, not specific to any game. Mayhem Gaming has some really nice AD&D 2nd edition nodes.

and um, do you have to import a character sheet to play?

Character sheets are made from XML files that the software reads and interprets as Nodes. You should have a features node named OpenRPG 1.7.1+ (or Traipse OpenRPG if you are a Traipse user) that contains all of the templates and tools you need to create the nodes used to build character sheets.

Some people have already created PC Sheets out of nodes so if you can find these you can then select Insert File from your Game Tree left click menu, and find the PC Sheet node that fits your needs.

If you don't like any of them then poke around and see how there built and build your own or you can use them as a base and change them to suit your needs.
