So I have been peeking about in the newly released campaign guide for Savage Worlds, and so far I am enjoying what I have seen. I did notice one thing that I found odd, and perhaps it is a typo. I was looking at the weapons (getting ahead of myself in the book), and I noticed an interesting discrepancy in the ranges of the Barrett .50 cal sniper rifle and the VSS Vintorez 9 mm sniper rifle. It shows that the VSS has a longer maximum range than the Barrett (300 vs. 200, I assume that is in game inches). Having worked on converting a PC game into an rpg ruleset I have done a bit of research on sniper rifles and the VSS has an effective maximum range of about 400 m due to the weight of the bullet and the subsonic velocity. The Barrett on the other hand has maximum range of 1800 m, far in excess of the VSS. Was the range listed for the Barrett a typo and it should have a higher number (or at least the same as the VSS)?

I'll look into it, but I would not claim to be a gun expert. :)
