Chris - thanks for putting Tiamat up for testing. Any way that my account's Tile Organizer maps could be brought in?

Some comments:
1. Custom Tags: for towers especially, but for some other tiles too, it'd be great to be able to narrow down on Stair tiles and forest v. urban ground floor designs.

2. The way you're doing rotation is kind of funky - I would have expected "rotate left" and "rotate right" functions instead of ASWD.

3. It would still be great to have to ability to mirror image tiles. For my maps, I have to snag the image from the PDF file and mirror-image it manually, and it would be great to have this ability within the map tool itself.

4. I know it's probably hard to do, but it'd be great to have the ability to resize the tile selection area. When working on complex maps, having to remember where the tile you want is in the order makes it difficult.

5. Another thing that would probably be hard to do but would a huge help would be the ability to group tiles, or at least move entire sections of a map from one area to another without picking up and moving the tiles one at a time.

I'm looking forward to seeing more functionality soon, and seeing how exporting works!

Thanks...Chris

I don't see why I can't do most of these. Maybe not for the initial release. Some comments on the specific ones.

1.) Good idea. I would almost prefer to just add tags to the system, such as towers, and have user help me index them. So I'm open to tag suggestions.

2.) Yeah, a couple people have comment on this. I'm going to change it soon.

3.) Hardest of the suggestions. This has some issues both implementation wise and if I have permission to do that.

4.) A couple suggestions here. First, I put tiles I want to use on the map like a color pallete. Since you can select them on the map and then it's the current selected tile. Also, I'm working on a history of the tile selected, so you can just look at your history to select a tile. With that said, I'll add this to my todo list.

5.) Yeah, some sort of group select might be nice. Added todo list.

I have a couple of questions too.

1. Will the old tile mapper disappear when you finish Tiamat?

2. Will we be able to transfer saved maps from the old to the new?

3. In the old mapper, I can export my maps to PDF even though I haven't bought the tile sets. Will that still be possible with Tiamat?

1. No. I plan to leave it up until people stop using it, but I'm going to stop selling it. There may come a time I stop supporting it though. But since these are two different products with different revenue models, I plan to leave it up.

2. Probably. But I'm not guaranteeing that right now.

3. In short no. There will always be a fee when exporting maps. I'll explain it in more detail in the near future, but when exporting a map, there will always be a small fee (per sq inch) plus the cost of the tiles. Once you own the tile, you don't pay for it again. However, you will be getting much higher quality maps. They will be a higher resolution and miniature scale (or smaller if that's what you want).

Please note that I've just started looking at Tiamat (has someone already mentioned that the page name seems to have been misspelled as "Tiamt"?) and am not familiar with the e-Adventure Tiles Mapper interface, but the feature I am most excited about is being able to print SkeletonKey Games tiles in mini scale. Will Tiamat print the tiles as laid out in the interface, or will it print out a overview map and then individual pages for each tile needed?

Possible issue with mouse pointer handling?

I've only been playing with Tiamat for a few hours, but it seems like there may be an issue with how the mouse pointer handles scrolling on larger maps? When I created a wider map with 100 columns I found that the insert tile box would not move with the mouse pointer when I scrolled to the right and seems to be offset by the distance from where I left the tile board to scroll and where my mouse pointer returns to the tile board? Here is a screenshot of my mouse pointer on row 24 column 100 with the insert tile box offset to row 24 column 42.

The export will be a full image exactly how it is laid out in the interface. I also plan to make a PDF that will have the tiles on each page if you want it that way (if you don't have a printer that can print the full miniature map).

Thanks. I've duplicated the bug on most browsers. Will be fixed soon. Thanks for the report.
